what would cause slow index detection
like 3-7 minutes to scan disks, the same disk put in a different drive scans in a few seconds.
the affected drive is a sata bluray-rom drive listed as:
ATAPI -iHOS104
on the dbripper drive selector
drive appears to rip fine once the gap/indexes are detected.
the gap detection goes fast, only a few seconds
the index detection takes 3 to 7 minutes.
I don't believe it happened before on r14 final, and this is first rips I've done since installing 14.1 beta

I'm seeing the same behavior in R14 final (latest) with an internal blue-ray reading drive. The drive is listed as:
HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CT21N

I did NOT install the 14.1 beta.

Thank you. The other thing I notice is that no "drive read cache" was detected (and cachex doesn't get any info from the drive). running win 7 x64 sp1.

FYI
When gap is elected to be shown in the columns I am getting very, very slow gap detection and indexing with one of my drives and DBPA R14 winxp. I haven't dipslayed the gap column before so I can't say if it occurred with R13 as well.
SAMSUNG - CD-R/RW SW-248B very slow gap detection and even slower/stuck in indexing 5mins per track!!
HL-DT-ST-DVDRAM GSA-4163B takes a few seconds fro both gap and indexing
What difference does this make to the rip anyway? Is it just for information or does it affect my FLAC files? Do I ahve to re-rip with this selected? :o
