Nested Windows 11 context menu items

After updating to the latest release I have duplicate context menu items for DB Poweramp

    Screenshot 2023-11-27 130703.png

The image shows the sub items from the top nested dbpoweramp item. The second nested dbpoweramp item opens with the same sub menus.

Prior to the update I had a single top level dbpoweramp context item opening to the two sub menu items ('Convert to' and 'Edit tags'.

Not the end of the world, but any idea how to clean this up to the prior set up?

FYI: I am having the same issue. Also running Windows 11. It didn't appear until the 2023-11-01 update of the reference version. I have tried uninstalling, scrubbing the registry, and reinstalling with a fresh downloaded copy. The double context menus have reappeared.

Thanks for the bug report, the next update will address this problem.
To get rid of duplicated context menu items:
Open Windows Powershell as Administrator and run:
    Code:
    Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers Illustrate.dBpoweramp.Win11Shell_1.0.0.0_x64__ndy2d1ybjs3ty
... then log off to restart Explorer.

My problem is a little different.
I have the context menu fixed like it used to be, but now I get an extra dBpoweramp sub menu that I don't want.

I tried that command and it didn't change anything.

I used to be able to upload on here. I even found all the images I have uploaded in the past. Couldn't get it to add a new one.
    Here's a try through GitHub.

If I uncheck the 'Convert to' on Right Click Menu option, it gets rid of the sub-menu, but also gets rid of the lone one.

Also, this is not a priority. A fix would be nice, but I blame Microsoft for the issue in the first place.

Re: Nested Windows 11 context menu items

So what you are seeing is the Windows 11 one, which is the one with Submenus, and also the prior windows one which is still put there because it only appears when you use the right menu button on the keyboard...

Normally you do not see the non sub menu one unless you click 'show additional items'

    Don't worry about it then.

Re: Nested Windows 11 context menu items

I'm having the same issue, I have a "dbpoweramp" submenu, and the items are also duplicated on the main context menu.

I get the same thing regardless of whether I right click or use the menu key.

I would prefer to ONLY have the submenu, and remove the other menu item entries, is this possible?

Edit: Clarification - when the default Windows 11 menu is shown, only the dbpoweramp submenu is shown, but when "Show more options" is selected, then the above described duplication occurs.
I have the classic context menu enabled, so for me the duplication is present all the time.

If it helps any: I have removed the annoying "Show more options" functionality with a registry key edit. Less clicks increases productivity.

Re: Nested Windows 11 context menu items

    Thanks for the bug reports.
I am trying to recreate this but I seem to have no idea how you can possibly get duplicated menus in "show more options".
Not on my daily use machines, not on clean Windows 11 virtual machines.
Any ideas what other factors there might be?
Any explorer patcher style software in use?
