Angry No Metadata when ripping FLAC

I ripped to Apple Losless and i can see the Metadata with mp3tag and foobar.
When i ripped the same CD to FLAC, no Metadata is present with mp3tag and foobar. In the Configuration the TAG-Creation for FLAC is Vorbis Comments.
In cdgrab i can see the Data. When i convert Apple Losless to FLAC it's the same problem. Please help me!

Can dBpoweramp see the ID Tags in the FLAC file? also check there is no DSP effect running such as ID Tag processing.

Thank you for your fast answer.
I can see all ID Tags in dBpoweramp. I remove the DSP's and have the same problem. No Tags in FLAC.

Hold the mouse over the FLAC file, dbpoweramp will popup info on the FLAC file, look unde the Contains section, it should say ID Tag (Vorbis Comments).

Re: No Metadata when ripping FLAC

I sounds like the FLAC decoder is missing, which is needed to tag, as a test try converting a FLAC file to Wave, does it work.

If it does not then uninstall FLAC, reboot and reinstall.

If the flac conversion does work, Right click on a FLAC file (with no tags) >> Edit Tags

Type something in to the Artist tag, then click ok, do the same again, has the artist tag been saved?

Unhappy Re: No Metadata when ripping FLAC

After uninstall the FLAC-codec and reboot, the codec was activ in dBpoweramp. Why? After deleting flac.dll in decoder and encoder folder, the flac-codec was not activ. Then i install new and reboot.
The problem: dBpoweramp writes no FLAG tags, not the ripper and not in the explorer. Older flacfiles are showing right in the explorer, but changes are not saved. Please help me

You are saying that older already tagged files are showing up with tags (for example on right click >> Edit Tag)? this indicates the tagger is running correctly.

Which drive are you writing to, a local drive or network?

    hjsch,

Just a thought/question - Have you got multiple versions of dbpoweramp installed by any chance? ie have you installed the lastest beta version and still got the R13 version also installed? Just wondering as this caused me a similar-ish type of problem recently with a function not working as expected.

Also...what happens if you try the following on one of the files with no tags:

    1) Go to windows file explorer
    2) Right click the file and choosed "Edit ID Tag" to bring up the dbpoweramp tag editor
    3) Click "Add" and and add any tag entry and press OK to save.
    4) Hover the cursor back over the filename

Does this add manage to add a tag successfully or give any error if not?

    Cheers.

My System is: Mac OS 10.6.3 - Parallel Desktop 4.0 - Win 7
    CD/DVD: Pioneer DVD/RW DVR K06A
It's no difference i'm ripping to FLAC or converting Apple Lossles to FLAC.
When I choose Edit Tag in the explorer, there is no error, but it doesn't save.
I see the older Tags, but i cannot change it.

Re: No Metadata when ripping FLAC

I know its probably a daft question....but In the "Options" for "Meta data and ID Tag" have you checked that the box for "Disable Tag Writing" is unchecked?

Otherwise....I think, if it was me, I'd be do a quick re-install of dbpowermap and see if that sorts it.

    Cheers.

Re: No Metadata when ripping FLAC

I am at a loss to figure out what is going on, normally if the file cannot be accessed it would say so, I do not think it is this, but perhaps something inside the flac codec - what is the path that you are writing to as it appears in CD Ripper?

    "Disable tag writing" is off.
    I have reinstall dBpoweramp completely.
I can rip to Apple Lossless and all id tags are great.
I rip the same cd to Flac and there are no id tags.
After reinstall dBpoweramp i can't see flac tags from older files and can't change them. Before reinstall i could see the tags.
In the configuration now i can't see the decoder flac, only flac encoder.
I deinstall flac codec, no difference.
I install flac codec, no difference.
    I don't understand this!
The destination folder is V:\_FLAC\[artist]\[album]\[disc]-[track] [title]
and i test the converter with c:/musik too.
What is the right "flac id tag padding"?

    Try:

    To Clear it, then reinstall.
