    Browse by folder...

    Hi,
I installed Asset, and now I have the following problems:

I need to browse by folder and filename, and after adding one Item it works,
but I have no album art displayed, as when I browse by Album etc.

And then I have folders with subfolders like "Vol. 1", "Vol. 2" and "Vol. 3". In Kinsky Desktop (Cara 6), these folders are all displayed as "Vol", "Vol" and "Vol".
    This makes no sense.

And then, Kinksy Desktop shows "unknown Artist" in the Playlist. I just want to browse by folder to find the file, I want to play. But the file contains
Album Art, Artist, Title etc. Where can I set, that this is shown.

Will this "browse by folder" disappear in the "free version" after 30 days?

    Can anyone help me?

Asset v3 supports album art when browsing by folder, see the beta section of this forum.

    Hi,
thank you for that, but what about my other questions?

    Vol Vol and Vol?

    Unknown Artist
    Unklown Album

Is "browsing by folder" only in the paid version?

v3 sorts the issue of Unknown XXXX also.

File system browsing is a Premium feature.

    Hi,
    thank you.

So I am willing to pay - but only if browsing by folder works.

I tried the beta, and the album art and the Unknown works.

But the vol vol vol does not work, also a simple example

shows in Kinsky Desktop like this:

Sinfonie Nr Sinfonie Nr Sinfonie Nr Sinfonie Nr Sinfonie Nr Sinfonie Nr Sinfonie Nr and so on..

Obviously Asset looks at folders and ignores everything after the first dot.

    Shouldn't be a big problem.

    Hi,
and now I find, that my Sony TV, which worked fine with Twonky 4.4.5.1, is not able to play my music files.
something like "no appropriate music files found..."

    Hi,
I have this problem with Gustav Mahler, but not with Beethoven, where the folders are arranged in a similar way.

With Album Art I have the problem, that 2 folders with different Albums, and different covers, are displayed in Kinsky Desktop with the same picture.
The title tag is identical (Symphony No. 15), but the covers, the conductor etc are not.

The browse by folder has been fixed, it will be released quite soon.

If this is in relation to the Sony not playing through Twonky, rather than Asset, please direct your support request to the Twonky forum.

    Re: Browse by folder...

    Hi,
thank you for the browse-by-folders-repair, I will check it as soon as
it is released. (Beethoven's symphonies had no dots, so it worked).

The Sony TV problem is, that it worked with Twonky, and it does not work with Asset. But please don't bother with this problem, at least not for me.
Browsing on the Sony is very slow, and works only for MP3, not for FLAC files.
I would have to be able to automatically re-encode for the Sony TV to ;P3, and not re-encode, that is: send the original FLAC to the Linn. Would that work?
