Please add an option to automatically check for program updates, like once a week, once a month, never.

    Thanks.

O well... I was really hoping R14 would really advance some features. I really tried to get rid of a bunch of stuff from my wishlist. I know dB is your baby and you have the final say, but unfortunately the focus seems to have gone off of dMC/CD ripper. I know you have spent a lot of time on it lately, but compared to the great advances in R12 and 13, R14 feels pretty ho-hum. AR2 is the only major advance, but even that...

Sorry to be unappreciative. Its still a great piece of software and the best ripper available. Its just that it could be even more amazing!

only things i want to see are:

cue sheet image utility codec to support embedding the cue sheet on all lossless codecs
replaygain scanning for cue sheet images

and on the replaygain bit add it to the cue sheet in the way foobar2000 does

        example:
        Code:

right now my ripping process has 4 steps
        1. rip to image with EAC (uncompressed... makes step 2 go quicker)
        2. replaygain scan in foobar
        3. encode with cuetools to monkey's audio with embedded cue
        4. mp3tag to embed album art

the above features would make dbpoweramp a one stop for all four steps

          Re: R14.x Requests and Suggestions

If you tend to first rip an album, and then process for replaygain as a separate step after ripping (as suggested by Spoon and others), I wouldn't stop using Foobar even if you get the cue sheet functionality you want in dBpoweramp if you tend to rip several albums at a time and process replaygain tags for several albums at a time. dBpoweramp writes all album replaygain tags at the end of replaygain tag processing, which for runs of more than 100 or so tracks, is frequently flagged as malware activity by many AV and malware programs (modifies many files with the album tags very quickly), and you end up with many files without album replaygain tags. The only method noted in these forums for avoiding having this activity flagged is to turn off your computer secuity (file monitoring).

Since many of us don't like turning off our security for any program, many of us who batch process many files for replaygain stick with Foobar. If dBpoweramp just switches to writing the album tag upon completion of processing all of the tracks for a single album during a multi-album run (not just at the end of all tracks of all albums), this problem probably goes away and your one-stop plan makes sense.

I have found the option in CD Ripper. Is there another option elsewhere in dBpoweramp? If so where?

            TIA

The rest of the program does not scale album art.

                Re: R14.x Requests and Suggestions

I have another request to make, hopefully in a future update. I would like a check box, maybe in music converter when choosing codec and settings, that allows me to erase original files when done converting; for example if a new version of "X" codec is out and i want want to transcode my lossless collection to the new codec i would like dbpoweramp to automatically delete the original lossless files. Was that clear? Thank you

You would just convert to the same location as the original, it would overwrite with the newer version.

it's not really the same Spoon, we're talking about lossless to lossy, it's not the same format. For instance now on XLD (macintosh program) they've introduced this feature to remove original files after conversion.

I believe dbpoweramp 14 introduced a bug in the library view by artist (or others), cover art in the file is reduced and should be bigger.

There is a DSP effect 'Delete Source File', use it carefully.

-Link the CD ripper to the Asset UPnP database: if you rip a disc with a slight variation on the artist name this could be checked against the database and the consistent name could be used. Also, it would be great if the ripper knew what discs are in your collection. This could access musicbrainz various artist names to check for variations as well as whatever system Asset is already using.

A request: Improvement of the "Root folder" in Arrange Audio.

                            In order of preference:
                            - Option to use current or [origpath] as the the root folder.
                            - "Fix" the Root Path textbox so longer UNCs can be pasted (current char limit is 54 unless using Browse dialog for some reason).

All that to avoid picking the folder by hand every time when working with single albums. Thanks.

In the internet album art window it would be nice to see some new right click options.

Right click on one of the pictures to:
                              -see full size
-refresh/redownload a picture (often times some of the pics don't completely download)
                              -save as back/leaflet/ect...

In PerfectMeta review window, an option arrow next to the 4 meta-data providers for some new options:
                              -refresh retry provider
-view/use alternative entries from a provider
-new button to re-calculate Perfectmeta if a provider is refreshed or an alternative entry is used.

When encoding tracks with errors, still show progress bar. It looks like the program has frozen or isn't doing anything when encoding tracks with errors because there is no onscreen indication that something is happening.

When a track is finished ripping, there is often a long delay before encoding starts. My guess is something is happening here. If that is the case, indicate what is happening and again show a progress bar.

When every track gets to 99% everything seems to stop. Again, I assume something is happening here. I don't know what, but indicate what it is and if there is a new task occuring, indicate what it is an show an error bar.
