    Yep in a flac file, MP3Tag states FLAC as opposed to id3v2.
    Does that on all the files, it was working fine on twonk when it was the <,> komma delimiter but having switched to server 2008 mainly to use asset I changed the delimiter to <;> (semicolon) but no joy... Running on Asset beta. 3

    BTW friendly name for asset is not picked up. In stead I get the server name running on Server 2008 R2 Foundation as my domain server

    The tag would have to be written internally as:

    GENRE=genre1
    GENRE=genre2

    for it to be picked up as separate, as per the Vorbis Comments specification

    Hi Spoon,

    can you already tell us the release date of Asset v3 Final ?

    4 weeks ago (24th August) you said in the Asset UPnP v3 thread:

    R14 has delayed Asset v3 slightly, it is only weeks away.

    OK so how do I do that, I tried adding a genre field with edit ID-tag but it just overwrites the old one allthough i clearly created a second genre item.

    I can't see more that one genre in MP3tag nor in edit ID

    That is because mp3tag is not writing genre to the vorbis comments specification.

    OK I figured as much but edit IDtag does not work either. Or is there a script somewhere to acomplish this like there is for multiple artists...

    Edit ID Tag would separate the genres, you would have to remove the genre from the file, click OK, then add it again.

    OK, thanks that did the trick. Unfortunately Edit ID Tag from R 14 still no joy.
    The trick did work using mp3tag. Might be a regression in there.:cry:

    Further testing also reveals that adding multiple genres with the ID tag Update codec (beta) only keeps the last added genre the previous ones are ignored/overwritten.

    Hi Spoon,
    i'm new in the forum and because I joined it to find an answer to Michaels statements I just wanna support his request.
    I see this problem as a MAJOR issue.

    FYI, I just got my Droid X updated to Android 2.2 (Froyo) and updated to the latest Asset beta. If you select AAC, etc. to stream as MP3 (I used 256k) then you can play things on your Android phone using the DLNA client. It doesn't seem to support WAV or LPCM.

    I will try out playlists tonight.

    Verified that playlists work from Windows Home Server, at least on my Droid X DLNA client. (Will test with PS3 later, but the wife is on it. I'm sure it'll work.)

    Thanks!

    Oh, found one issue with playlists - if you have a song with a non-ASCII character in it, you can't play it. It comes up with the title mangled and the artist is "Unknown Artist."

    In my case, the song is at:
    d:\Shares\Music\Freezepop\Hi-five My Remix\01 Super-sprøde.mp3

    Note the weird "o-with-a-slash" in the song title.

    If I navigate through Album/Artist to Freezepop and select the song manually, it does display and play properly, so this is something specific to playlists.

    Verified the playlists are working on PS3.
