Thread: No option for secure rip in RipNAS

No option for secure rip in RipNAS

I have just purchased and installed the RipNAS software on my WHS. I'm not getting the option for a "secure" rip. (The area between "DSP Effects and Actions" and "Advanced Settings" is blank.) What am I doing wrong?

    Home built box:
    • Windows Home Server, Power Pack 3
    • Intel Core2 4300 1.8ghz processor
    • Asus P5KPL-CM Motherboard
    • 4GB RAM
    • Samsung (TSST) SH-S203N SATA DVD writer

    Thanks!

The secure version of RipNAS Essentials was only available with the Teac drive, this drive has been discontinued now.

In that case, how do I go about getting a refund?

Re: No option for secure rip in RipNAS

I'm about to invest in a RipNAS with a Linn ds system. Will the tracks still be at their best as flac without the secure rip option for great reproduction?
Also to stream to different computers on our home network do we need Asset installed on them all?
Sorry for my ignorance as a beginner, if this has been discussed in another thread that I have missed, please guide me to it and that would suffice.
One last thing, for audiophile music reproduction would the Statement version be significantly better than the standard RipNAS?
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Normal RipNAS is secure, this thread relates to 'RipNAS Essentials' which is stand-alone ripnas software (not supplied on a device) which does not secure rip.

Statement and RipNAS both reproduce audio the same (same teac drive used).

Just wanted to add a follow up: dBpoweramp graciously agreed to let me exchange my RipNAS for a product that will do secure ripping, and they were prompt in doing so. Kudos!
