Getpopupinfo.exe crashing

On hovering over some files, getpopupinfo is crashing.

The files in question have been encoded with the wavpack codec.
Some wavpacked files are ok.
It might be v3 files that are causng the problem.
v4 ones i checked appeared ok

help appreciated on this...

UPDATE:

although not all v3 files were crashing it, most were.

re-encoding to v4 solves it. Thought it worth mentioning though
