Multilangage brings a lot of users

Hi, i think that if you make your program in multilanguage, you should have more users. I note that in france, people download softwares only because they are in french, not for the features. i don't mind if the programs are in french or not, but it's not the case of everybody. Do you think you'll translate them soon?

    Yes, multiling. would be nice...
I know that Spoon has this in his plans.
I guess that if he made a suport for translation that someone would translate it. I for one would probably translate to Serbian (thou that would make too much users )
But there are a lot of buttons and stuff that are pictures and that can't be translated easily, so I guess that it has to wait, and that improving how it plays is more important

I think the point is to have the help in other languages
Anyone 'rip' or convert' or 'trim' no matter where he is around the world.
Like it there is no need to change the interface

No it's not just the player, it's Spoon instaler that gives it a few languages...

Translating help, hmmm, I think that I could do that, I was thinking of ofering that, but as I said Serbian wouldn't be too popular...
Maybe if people would translate the help files of dap to diferent languages and then put them on the site so that anyone can download what he needs

The language option is for the installer only.

It is a good idea to translate the help files, any takers? - lets do dAP first.

and maybe some "other language" forums here to help also. of course it would need a moderator that spoke that language and was willing to help in this area.

A first thing that spoon can do is to list all the words present in the button ("add music", "selective play" "random"...) and to give it to erverybody, so before wondering how to make it multinlangage, you 'll have already the button translation.
                    bye

I don't know whether the translation thing is still gonna happen, but if so, I can translate it to Dutch for you....

If someone wants to take charge, perhaps try doing the Audio Player first, generate a list of words, get them translated, then the hard part change all the graphic items, then create an install for that language. Not easy work, I am not able to spare any time ATM.

If you give me some tips on these questions, then I could give it a shot. I've got (I think) enough experience to do it... It would be fun to try it.

What kind of file are you thinking of (in which the list should be)?

Should it be a simple text file (comma delimited) or excell sheet ... or am i way off ?

Would making a template (which can be filled in by users) for translating all variable names etc be useful?

A simple text file would be sufficient, you could even post the words here for people to translate.

what about MBCS languages? (like CJK)

Should it be a Unicode text?
