    24/48 Lossless -> 16/44.1 WMA VBR 98 problem

    I'm getting the occasional blast of white noise for less than a second at the very end of my 16/44.1 VBR files.

    16/44.1 lossless to WMA VBR 98 is fine it only happens on 24/48 lossless to WMA VBR 98.

    Not every file but a good chunk, I'd say close to 50 percent.

    Any ideas? I'm running 13.2

    What program are you playing the files in?

    If you play the files on your PC, do you get the white noise still?

    I know where you are going with this question but it doesn't really matter to me.

    When I convert a 16bit 44.1khz lossless files to WMA lossy 9.2 VBR 98 they all play perfectly fine.

    When I convert a 24bit 48khz lossless files to WMA lossy 9.2 VBR 98 they don't all play fine some have a very small blast of white noise at the end.

    There is obviously something different between the files, the player doesn't really matter. I haven't tried them on my PC but even if it did play them fine, it doesn't help with what is different with the files that would make my Car not like them.

    I can find one of the original 24bit 48khz lossless files and provide it for testing purposes if that would help?

    I'm going to try -v0 lame vbr next time I fill up my USB key, I'm hoping it won't have the same problem, but I do still think there is a small issue that should be looked at.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Are you using the "Resample" DSP when you are going from 48 to 44.1KHz? Or the "Bit Depth" DSP when you are going from 24-bit to 16-bit? Try using them and see if it helps any.

    I did another run using both of the DSPs and they are worst, I get a constant clicking noise in the resultant files.

    Now I'm trying a lame cbr 320 encode instead without DSPs.
