Thread: CoreConverter.exe documentation

    CoreConverter.exe documentation

Can anyone point me to documentation, or just instructions, for the commandline interface CoreConverter.exe?

The only thing I found has very little detail:
    http://www.dbpoweramp.com/developer-cli-encoder.htm

I cannot figure out how to set my desired bitRate...

What format are you trying to convert to? Most formats have the command-line parameters in their help files.

    Re: CoreConverter.exe documentation

dBpoweramp Reference allows compressions from the command-line, commands specific to this codec:

-V 4 quality (VBR) based encoding (default -V 4 if not supplied)
-b 128 constant bitrate (or ABR if --abr is supplied)
    --freeformat write freeformat mp3 (use with -b 320 to -b 640)

-encoding="SLOW" "NORMAL" "FAST" (none supplied uses NORMAL)
-freq="44100" (none supplied uses [as source])
-channels="mono" "stereo" "joint stereo" "forced joint stereo" "dual channels" (non supplied uses [auto])
    -copyright_bit="1" "0" (none supplied uses "0")
    -original_bit="1" "0" (none supplied uses "1")
    -crc="1" "0" (none supplied uses "0")
    -force_iso="1" "0" (none supplied uses "0")

    Example: "c:\program files\illustrate\dBpoweramp\coreconverter.exe" -infile="c:\afile.wav" -outfile="c:\outfile.mp3" -convert_to="mp3 (Lame)" -V 2

    Thanks Spoon and LtData,

Do you know where I can find a definitive list of parameters?

LtData wrote, "Most formats have the command-line parameters in their help files"

Does that mean the LAME help files? I'm not sure where to look.

I ask because I am also interested in setting ID3 tags. '

    Best Regards,
    Ben

No, the help files for the codec that are installed by dMC should have the parameters.

Start --> Programs --> dBpoweramp Music Converter --> Help --> Codecs

It seems to be unpublished. I was rather disappointed, for $38.

I've resorted to reverse-engineering from the registry e.g. http://screencast.com/t/Cn2Ytk6UvC . Take care to follow the proprietary encoding.

Please do tell me if you find a list.

The registry is the publicized way, has been for years:

The requirement was to "find a definitive list of parameters". I don't see anything in the article that meets that.

Second that. The bare minimum would be for the executable to list the possible parameters when invoked with -?, --help or the like.
What is really expected from a paid for product is a documented list of parameters. It's a 1 hour job, if that, for someone with access to the source code.

That http://i.imgur.com/7CkP0Eb.png has the Help file for only one of the many codecs installed here.

In fact seeing "dBpowerAMP" (sic) makes me wonder if that entry is official. The other entries live in Start --> Programs --> dBpoweramp.

Can you tell me where to obtain the other codec help files?
