Scripting Windows Media 9
Hello! I am currently making a program that is watching a folder and converting all audio files in it to WMA. Setting the WMA Coding Options using WMASettings.Set command. This works fine with the Windows Media 8 codec.
BUT: When I installed the new Windows media 9 codec, the program only converts the files to the latest settings in the dbPowerAmp program!!
How can I override this settings, when the WMASettings.Set does not work??

Ah...I will update it for the next dMC beta (probabbly Accurate Rip test *2) in a week or so.
-
Double Ah...just looked at it - WMA 9 works on profiles, so it is not possible to specify a frequency, or bitrate, even dMC cannot do that (it is just a big list of Codecs).
-
Hmmm
So what you are saying is that it is no way I can specify Bitrate, Sampling Freq etc for the Windows Media 9 codec with dMC?? Or can i make different profiles and make dMC load different profiles with the WM9 koder??
-
Both are true, the active profile is stored in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP
something like WMAv9xxx

I have the same problem, but cant' find a solution. Did you come up with anything?

Is there an update on the way, or should I look for another solution?
Great program btw.

The only way is to use the WMA v8 codec if you want to specify bitrates etc. (It will be written as WMA v9 if that is installed, you just don't get the Lossless options).
-
okay, that's great - thanks
I don't need the lossless option...

How do I use VBR via scripting?
Can't finde anything about it, other than it is supported...
-
Sorry VBR is only part of WMA v9.
