    DSP Effect: ReplayGain (Apply)

Has two main purposes, a DSP effect dBpoweramp Music Converter can use to apply Album Gain to the audio as it processes it (source files must contain replaygain: album gain tag), or to add ReplayGain abilities to uPlayer.

    Re: DSP Effect: ReplayGain (Apply)

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for, but unfortunately it seems to behave rather strangely - I ran an album through it this afternoon and used WaveGain (which I have been using up 'til now) to check if the volume came out at a sensible level, but they didn't. All tracks had album gain tags that read -2.08 dB (which were created by the ReplayGain DSP when the files were ripped)

WaveGain result from tracks before DSP:

Gain | Peak | Scale | New Peak | Track
    ---------------------------------------------
    -1.80 dB | 25690 | 0.81 | 20882 | 1
    +3.47 dB | 18135 | 1.49 | 27041 | 2
    -0.65 dB | 24907 | 0.93 | 23111 | 3
    -3.18 dB | 26657 | 0.69 | 18485 | 4
    -2.13 dB | 24872 | 0.78 | 19463 | 5
    -2.25 dB | 24885 | 0.77 | 19206 | 6

Recommended Album Gain: -2.07 dB Scale: 0.7880

WaveGain result from tracks after DSP:

Gain | Peak | Scale | New Peak | Track
    ---------------------------------------------
    -1.85 dB | 25726 | 0.81 | 20791 | 1
    +3.45 dB | 17884 | 1.49 | 26604 | 2
    -0.72 dB | 24450 | 0.92 | 22505 | 3
    -3.21 dB | 27106 | 0.69 | 18731 | 4
    -2.14 dB | 25153 | 0.78 | 19660 | 5
    -2.28 dB | 25387 | 0.77 | 19526 | 6

Recommended Album Gain: -2.11 dB Scale: 0.7843

It would appear that the DSP has actually increased the volume by a small amount. In order to check that this wasn't connected to the album, I also did the same with a louder, modern album, but this produced similar results.

WaveGain result from tracks before DSP:

Gain | Peak | Scale | New Peak | Track
    ---------------------------------------------
    -10.97 dB | 32731 | 0.28 | 9257 | 1
    -10.96 dB | 32731 | 0.28 | 9267 | 2
    -11.25 dB | 32731 | 0.27 | 8963 | 3
    -11.04 dB | 32731 | 0.28 | 9182 | 4
    -8.65 dB | 32730 | 0.37 | 12091 | 5
    -11.03 dB | 32731 | 0.28 | 9193 | 6
    -9.07 dB | 32731 | 0.35 | 11520 | 7
    -10.36 dB | 32731 | 0.30 | 9930 | 8

All our tests were against Foobar and the results were identical (except for rounding changes).

          N00bish question, but:
What is the difference between the ReplayGain DSP and the ReplayGain (Apply) DSP?

The apply changes the audio, the normal non-apply stores the RG value in a tag, for the player to adjust.
