no CD Drive with SATA AHCI mode in BIOS and SPT communication in dbpoweramp

My CD drive (Samsung SH-S203B) is not showing up in dbpoweramp with
communication set to "SCSI Pass Through (SPT)" on Windows Vista.
When I change communication to "Windows internal" it works, but I want to
be able to limit the drive speed during ripping, which is only possible
    with "SPT".

Now, if I disable SATA AHCI mode to in the BIOS of my motherboard (GIGABYTE GA-G33M-DS2R), I can use the CD drive with "SPT".

Why is the "SCSI Pass Through" communication mode not supported
for the SATA AHCI mode? Can this limitation be overcome?

Have you tried "Run as administrator" when you start dbpoweramp, also have you installed the latest SATA driver from Gigabyte ?

Thanks. Installing the IntelĀ® Matrix Storage Manager did the trick. Now the drive is recognized by dbpoweramp with STP communication mode and SATA AHCI enabled in the BIOS.
