File Naming Element "([length_mmss])" outputs "(12.27.13)" instead of "(4.14)" - why?

When I first switched to dBpoweramp Music Converter R12.2 Registered from R11.5 Registered I found the [length] naming element no longer produced an output in mm.ss (minutes.seconds), but in milliseconds. In R12.3 you added back in the elements [length_mmss] & [length_hhmmss].

After upgrading to R12.4 and testing on two different CD's, I find the [length_mmss] outputting a bogus hh.mm.ss value in the filename. For example:

Eva Cassidy - Drowning in the Sea of Love (1992) (12.42.02).ape
Liona Boyd - Fantasy on a Romantic Theme (1994) (12.27.13).ape

The filenames should have been written as:
Eva Cassidy - Drowning in the Sea of Love (1992) (4.19).ape
Liona Boyd - Fantasy on a Romantic Theme (1994) (4.14).ape

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this a bug or did something screw up during my installation of the music converter?

[length_mmss] works fine for me. Try uninstalling dMC, rebooting, and reinstalling to see if that fixes it.

Are you saying that an earlier R12.x did not have the problem? What is the source audio for the time (it is taken from the source), hold the mouse over and see which length is reported by dBpoweramp.

Just did a test rip of the track, "Liona Boyd - Spirit of the Moving Waters" with "3:59" showing in the Length column of dBpoweramp CD Ripper and with the following name string,

"[artist] - [title] ([year]) ([length_mmss])"

and this is what I got:

Liona Boyd - Spirit of the Moving Waters (1994) (11.43.14).ape

Moving the mouse cursor over the filename in Windows Explorer reports length = 3 minutes 59 seconds.

Next, I will try uninstall and reinstall of dBpoweramp CD Ripper.

If you right-click on the file and go to properties and go to the "Audio Properties" tab that dMC has, what does it say the length is?

Confirmed bug, will add to the fixing list (this bug seems to be only from CD Ripper, not if converting the files with naming).

Update on Progress with CD Ripper [length_mmss] Naming Element Problem


According to SPOON’s last reply this appears to be a bug in the Ripper, so the following info is rather redundant, but I’m sending it anyway since it was to be part of my previous post at 01:16 AM today which was a copy of an MS Word doc with tables which didn’t translate very well!

1. Downloaded dBPowerAmp again (just in case the first download was corrupted)
2. Uninstalled dBPowerAmp and all its codecs.
3. Re-installed dMC-R12.4-Ref-Registered.exe into my Administrator Account.
4. In the dBpoweramp Configuration / Music Converter “Music Converter Debug = ON”.
5. Started CD Ripper in my Administrator Account and Ripped track 4 from another CD with the following resulting filename and rip data:
Alex Komodore – Koyunbaba, Suite (Op. 19), Moderato (1994) (10.15.02).mp3
I did not have this problem with R12.2 and it seems to be independent of Codec used (tried MP3, Monkeys Audio & Wave).
