    Best Settings for Massive Rip

    Hello All,

I am waiting to confirm the best way to rip my some 500 CD's with my Brand New Plextor Ultraplex 40x SCSI drive.

Time is not an issue, just the security of the rip.

Currently I am using R13 Beta.

dBpoweramp Release 13 Digital Audio Extraction Log from Friday, December 28, 2007 8:21 AM

    Drive & Settings
    ----------------

    Ripping with drive 'H: [PLEXTOR - CD-ROM PX-40TS ]', Drive offset: 676, Overread Lead-in/out: Yes
AccurateRip: Active, Using C2: Yes, Cache: None, FUA Cache Invalidate: No
Pass 1 Drive Speed: Max, Pass 2 Drive Speed: Max
Ultra:: Vary Drive Speed: No, Min Passes: 3, Max Passes: 6, Finish After Clean Passes: 2
Bad Sector Re-rip:: Drive Speed: Max, Maximum Re-reads: 34

    Encoder: FLAC -compression-level-8 -verify

Are these settings the best method or should I change Ultra Secure settings?
I am coming from EAC. Also, how do I embedd the Album Art in each individual FLAC?

    Cheers

So just unselect C2 and the rest of the settings are good?
EAC reports the drive as using C2.

CD Ripper now reads the cd 5 times without C2 selected. Is this an overkill?

      Thanks

We do not support c2 with that drive model (a very old scsi drive).

It might be old, but I just purchased a brand new one.
I though C2 in the Ultraplex 40x was good?

So are my settings good? Just unselect C2 and the rest is OK?

Thanks Glad I purchased this program just want a bit more conformation.

If using accuraterip it will only read once with a match.

Can you please confirm my settings.

Lots of my CD's will not be in Accuratetip database. Is reading the cd 5 times them not an overkill?

If you are very keen (on good results) then reading 5 times is not an overkill.

Thanks, glad settings are good. Just wondering why dBpoweramp is not supporting C2 in the Plextor 40x and why ripping 5 times is considered necessary to get a perfect rip without accurate rip? Just seems a little overkill

                      Cheers

If you really care about good results, I'd get a good drive with c2 support.

I recently completed the last of a 6,000-disc project that I started in February, and I can say that you'll feel much better and move much more quickly with c2 support.

Re: Best Settings for Massive Rip

I want a drive that reads into leadin/out.

PX-40TS has great C2 support except for some reason it is not used in dBpoweramp. What drive do you recommend that has good C2 and reads into the leadin/out and is available?

I couldn't find such a drive and settled on replacing my PX-40 with another drive.
