    Recording sound=frustration

Hello, as LtData can verify I cannot convert ram files to wave.

Cannot get the converter to work with the new 12.3.

I found out by searching tht I have a sound recorder on board. So I play a ram file direct from the internet and it saved it to wave. Problem solved lol. negative no SOUND.

I don't know if it would pay me to purchase a new sound card and get rid of Sigmtel which no one else seems to have.

I have creative sound blaster on my old cp which worked fine but with this Dell/Home Basic I'm not sure at this point what to do.

Would appreciate some qualified response. :(

    Thanks

eddynat: There is a method you can use to have dMC decode rm/.ram files with RealAlternative, see Codec Central for details. Also, Java is in Vista and has been unable to get Aux Input to work.

So you haven't tried doing the method in Codec Central to get dMC to decode .rm files, then.
