    Best DVD dual-layer media brand?

I've been researching around at NewEgg.com for the best brand of dual layer blank DVD media.

So far, through reading through reviews:

Memorex - Heck no. More negative reviews than positive, and they all say the same thing more or less: disc won't burn, or an error occurs during burn process

TDK - Maybe. There are some negative reviews but mostly positive reviews. Complaints are that only some of the discs out of a stack of TDK discs will work; the others fail, apparently.

RI-data - Roughly the same as the reviews for TDK, see above.

Verbatim - Excellent reviews, there was only one negative review, and the reviewer simply said that Verbatim is expensive.

*Note*: The order of brands listed are from cheapest to most expensive.

Putting these reviews aside, I'd like to ask the dBpowerAMP community: What brand of dual layer DVD's do you use, and are they at least 95% successful during burning/usage?

    Neil -

The cdfreaks forum pretty much agrees (as much as a forum can) that Ty and Verbatim are the best media brands. As to which ones make the best dual-layer, I can't say, but I'd definitely go over to the cdfreaks forum

    ...

As to my poll answer, I do like toast.

I even have a "Toast Boy" T-shirt that a friend (an ex-girlfriend) made for me.

It involves the discovery that her older sister and I both went to the same pre-school, and a couple stories her mom told about her sister's classmate were actually about me. One story involved toast, of course.

Preschool was 1973-1974 with a class size of seven and fourteen kids, respectively The connection was especially freaky, since her family moved out of the area in the mid 70s.

    So, toast it is.

Ah, just checked it out cdfreaks.

VERY good resource, I gotta thank you for that site.

I really wish the prices for dual layer DVD's would drop.
