    Copy protected wma...

Recently I copied a song from a Memorex recordable CD with Windows Media Player to my computer. My friend recorded a song she made up onto the CD, and I tried converting the song from .wma to .mp3 and it said it was copy protected. I don't think my friend even knows how to copy protect. Any suggestions how I can convert the song from .wma to .mp3?

Nevermind. I dont think anyone was going to reply, but I just ripped it straight from the CD as a .mp3 file. I'm still curious as why it said it was copy protected...

By default Microsoft copy protect any WMA files Media player creates, so they will not play on another computer.

For the record any WMA files dMC creates are not copy protected.
