    converting mp3 to aac

    Hi everybody,
i am new to this area of codecs and conversion and i am trying to convert the mp3 files that i have to .aac using dbpowerAmp. I followed the instructions given on codec central, but i am getting an error

ERROR: couldnot open output mp4 file, when i try to convert.

But the conversion proceeds and creates a file of size 0 KB.

    Pls. help.............

You have downloaded and installed the Nero encoder (see the mp4 help file)?

I have and the LOCATE ENCODER and the file NEROAACENC.EXE that it looks for just does not exist on the hard drive.

I have a "Nero Digital Audio (AAC).dll" in the COMPRESSION folder but DMC wants nothing to do with it.

How do I make DMC r11.5 convert to AAC? The codec does not install correctly, or DMC cannot use what is installed.

Did you follow the instructions as stated in the M4a codec help documentation and extract the neroaacenc.exe from the zip file you downloaded?

As Wayne said, you MUST follow the instructions in the help file that tell you to download a zip file directly from Nero that contains the .exe's you need to encode.

That sucks! Why download an EXE to have you open a help file to tell you to download another file?

Just package the whole thing in ONE package so when you install it, it works out of the box when installed. Or have the installation download from the Nero web site and install it automatically.

Some simplicity is needed in the AAC codec install.

I mean, really. Can't be that hard to implement.

I saw how to do it. Will try that later on. Thanks!

We can't package it or automatically download it and keep it for free. However, mabye a link on the codec download page would be okay. I'll make a note of it.

                Re: converting mp3 to aac

As NEROAACENC.EXE belongs to Nero I doubt that Spoon would be able to include it in the package so that it can be installed automatically.

As LtData mentions may be a link on the codec download page would be helpful.
