Thread: Auxiliary input refuses to stop recording!

  1. #1

Exclamation Auxiliary input refuses to stop recording!

How do I get Auxiliary input to stop recording/converting? For months it was working perfectly now anytime I press record to stop (after using auto start) nothing happens.
When the cancel conversion prompt appears I click on yes and the conversion continues.
The only way I can stop either is to close down db using task manager.
I get this problem whether using line-in or mic.
Is the problem my settings, my software or me?
I run db on Windows XP.
If anyone out there has come across this before and can help or advise me it would be very much appreciated.
And finally if i should need to re-install db would I have to buy a new mp3 license to?

Click the record button in the other popup window.

Basically the grey pop that appears when recording begins doesn't work when I click on record to stop it, it's a wicked piece of software and I'm miffed I can no longer use it. Is there anything else I can do?

Perhaps it is the audio format you are recording to? make sure no DSP effects for Auxiliary Input.

    Hello.

I am getting exactly the same problem. I'm also using windows xp. It's been several months since I used the program, and it used to work fine.

I've tried changing the conversion from MP3 to WAV, but the program still doesn't respond to clicking the 'record' button, to stop the recording once started.

Have you got auto-end enabled in options, or do you have Smart length set?

Thanks for the reply Xaos. Have have tried it both ways and with various level and time settings for the auto-end, but still no joy.

Did you by chance install the new version of dMC r12 or any new codecs that come with it?

I'm on version 11.5, and I'm not aware of any new codecs being installed.

    Sorry I can't think why it's happening.

Have you installed any other programs of late that just might be interfering?

Try a total dMC uninstall, as described here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=13285

Many thanks LtData and ChristinaS. Just done the total dMC uninstall and now all's well!

In case anyone's interested I had performed a normal uninstall, but it was only with the dBpoweramp-reset program from the link in the previous post, that it started working again.

    'All the best.
