Re: Can I import from USB?

I'm really confused. If you have your files on a USB drive, just copy them to a different USB drive using your computers normal copy and paste function. I suspect something simple is happening with...
  2. Re: How To Download, Install and Activate on an "Offline" Computer. Please

sure, download the "install" programs from "illustrate - dbpa" then copy to a thumb drive, etc. Copy to computer no 2, then install. Keep in mind that metadata, tagging, artwork, checking against...

Re: Can I import from USB?

In that case, you may have little or no work. The files are already lossless FLAC. That's perfect. What are you trying to fix? Is the tagging all messed up? Or are you just trying to confirm you...

Re: Can I import from USB?

You've never actually said what CODEC you originally ripped the files with (or I missed it). Are your original rips LOSSLESS (FLAC, ALAC, or WAV)? Or are they mp3 or m4a etc. If the files are...

Re: Can I import from USB?

I did the same thing. Itunes > mp3. But reripped all the FLAC with dbpa. about 6 or 7 thousand CDs to re-rip!!! Just finished the last 1000 or so last summer during lockdown.

    Re: play music

Dbpa is for ripping CDs and converting files. It is not a player. Install foobar2000 program on laptop and use that as your player.
  7. Re: Batch Converter DSP Effects Settings Question

to be safe, add any DSP effect only once in a single conversion. (maybe this is like the legal warnings I've seen on lawn mowers: "This device is not suitable for cutting hair or trimming...
  8. Re: Batch Converter DSP Effects Settings Question

I suspect it only accepts a DSP once per setting. But why would you want to enter any DSP twice within a single conversion? I can't think of any reason.

Re: CD not in AR, yet some tracks are?

Some box sets contain disks that are identical to an original release, and thus matches the AR database (for example, the Hendrix Woodstock set in the 30+ complete woodstock box matches AR with a...

Re: Deleting Albums/Tracks from s NAS Drive

sorry, i'm not an apple user. But the folders/files written to your NAS by dbpa should be exactly the same organization scheme once on the NAS. I suspect you'll get better help for this at a...

Re: Deleting Albums/Tracks from s NAS Drive

I'm not sure I understand the problem. If you have files/folders on your NAS drive that you no longer want, simply use any file manager on your computer to delete those files. This doesn't require...

Re: General CD Audio Ripping Question

FLAC is lossless. Assuming you get a good rip (and that is confirmed with either an AccurateRip match or Secure outcome), nothing about the compression level (e.g., using "5"), or metadata tags, or...
  13. Re: Lost the plot - or more likely never found it

I use foobar2000 as a player on my windows machines. I use foobar2000 mobile on my iPhone and iPad. I use TuneFusion to setup up synching of songs from my local library to my iThings, while...

Re: Album art - by track or by folder/album?

for me the only advantage is *3 (mixtapes). Accordingly, I use only a single "cover.jpg" file in each album subdiretory. If I make a "mixtape" or create a set of lossy files for my iPhone, I simply...

Re: Help I'm ripping text files not music files

Is this windows. Your naming path is pretty long. Could you be running up against name length problem? As a test, try ripping to your C: drive, with a much shorter path.

post the log that gets created when ripping. It probably has the clue as to the problem.

    Re: Ripping and CD Quality

I assume you are ripping to mp3 (lame) and selecting VBR V2. That's what I use for my portable files, with all the default settings.
  21. Re: Problems Ripping multiple copies of same CD with different drives

I wonder if this is a CD that has copy protection built in. There were quite a few of these in the mid to late 1990s by some record labels (Sony comes to mind). These are hard/impossible to rip.
  22. Re: Problems Ripping multiple copies of same CD with different drives

My next step would be to try and rip the CD with something like iTunes, as a test. Does it rip with another ripper? You can rip to ALAC (lossless), then convert to FLAC with dbpa if you are using...

    Re: Tag problems

Naming and folder creation is not random, but based on how you have setup your path and dynamic naming string. See:
