Thanks for the great explanation! Those are neat features which would be nice to have in AssetUPnP.
The Control Point in the pictures, is it BubbleUPnP?
So the text "Enigma" in tracks 2 & 7...
Out of curiosity, could you describe what can be accomplished with those tags please? I don't think they are supported by AssetUPnP. For example, could any of them be used for grouping multiple...
COLLECTION=1 would be a custom tag, but I assume you are aware that the standard is COMPILATION=1
Also, don't you populate ALBUM ARTIST? Browsing by that won't include the artists on compilations...
It does, I just did a hex check of a flac file tagged by music converter.
Yes, and it's been said above. But then you'd have to tag specifically for Asset which wouldn't conform with your other applications.
My point was a workaround that leaves the ALBUM tag intact.
If this doesn't resolve for a while, you could try another workaround without touching the ALBUM tag.
In Asset's Rename List, add the line
album:=(Unknown Album):==
Then restart & refresh...
I think that Asset doesn't accept "=" as the very first character in a tag and will consequently delete it. So if "=" is the only character, the tag will be treated as absent. At least this is how it...
Hi Spoon! I hope you didn't totally reject this idea, cause unfortunately I cannot get used to how the year listing works. Even after many years! So I wish for these options:
• sort years...
Not sure if you by "mark" refer to tagging your files?
If so you can use tagging software to create your own custom tag FAVOURITES and set it up accordingly in Asset.
Or you could hi-jack a...
Gracenote aim for monopoly. Years ago they ripped the community off CDDB when they bought and commercialized it. Still demanding to be exclusive to permit a license. I say boycott that scam business.
It now works in R7 beta 4 to index BPM for mp3's. Thanks!
That's a pity. While I understand that XP is old, it's still the best Windows version when you need a lightweight OS for an offline server. I run Asset on a somewhat older laptop and Vista/7/8/10 are...
You have 2 options:
Either use ALBUM SORT and tag e.g. "1969 - Abbey Road". Note the space between ALBUM and SORT. Also set the handling of sorting tags in the configuration.
Or try the new R7...
Beta 4 doesn't install in XP. No problems in Windows 10 except there's still the problem with indexing album type (or anything starting with album). The solution is the same as before, i.e. writing...
Hi GBrown! Were you using Mp3tag from scratch, not just to make the edit? Mp3tag writes TPE2 for AlbumArtist, and that as well as Album Artist works in R7.
I'm interested cause I have a somewhat...
Yes it is. Updating or adding tags is easy, you only need a tag editor. PerfectTUNES from dBpoweramp is a good choice, and you have some other taggers here:...
There is Additional > Browse by folders in Asset to browse on the disk.
In my library though, the singles are not in one place on the hard disk, but in subfolders of the artists.
So to easily...
I do as garym except that I tag ALBUM ARTIST on all my albums. There is no de facto standard here, and there are simplistic or just crap players out there which don't support much. But I think there...
So Asset prefers to strip the filenames. That leads me to ask:
In a big library, would Asset load/scan faster if the artist art files were prepared with stripped filenames to begin with?
Is there an approximate release date for Asset R7 linux, even a beta version?
I recommended Asset for a friend but unlike me, he is a linux user, and he needs 10+ tag values so he won't try the...
You can tag e.g. "ALBUM SORT=1969 - Abbey Road" and then select your preferred handling of sorting tags in the settings.
Then when you browse by ALBUM they will be sorted chronologically.
That is not correct, in Windows it's case-insensitive, with or without spaces. All of these works:
"Bob Dylan.png", "bob dylan.png", "BobDylan.png" and "bobdylan.png".
It's in the dBpoweramp settings (windows at least), in my case:
C:\Documents and Settings\vilsen\Application Data\dBpoweramp\uMediaLibrary\AssetUserUpstreamImages
Oh I see, no worries :)
