Re: Is the upgrade worth it?

It was for me. See this link for a list of changes/improvements. Can't recall which version, but I suspect your version doesn't access many of the metadata providers anymore do to changes on their...
  2. Re: When playing an album it will only play one FLAC file at a time

This is not a dbpa issue, but a player issue. Don't use WMP or Grove so can't speak to the setting or play approach you should use with these. I'm sure they should be able to play complete albums....

    Re: 44khz to 48khz

quality will be the same at best, and maybe worse. Changing the audio stream from it's original does nothing to improve quality.

Re: What does re-rip to CRC mean?

I think you must have misread the message. There is no such thing as re-rip to CRC. There could be something like "re-rip in order to MATCH CRC" or something like that. Getting the same CRC across...

Re: My ripping is in 0.1 speed

Is this something new? Was it faster before? Do you have "use C2 error checking" ticked? If so, untick it. In my experience (other than the use C2 ticking), this only happens if the CD has damage...

Re: CD driver not on completely flat surface

Hey, as a typical "american" who knows only one language, I'm always impressed with people that speak, write, and THINK, in multiple languages!

Just kidding you....and actually "not sensible" is not that far off from how some drives behave.

highly unlikely. And are you getting either accuraterip matches or secure outcomes? If so, you're good.

    Re: What are logs for?

logs record exactly what happened during the ripping process (and there is a setting in dbpa options to give you "full" logs).
p.s. You should really quit reading that reddit group. Amazing...

Re: Ref 17.1 unable to rip cds

this would be to test if that's the problem. If it works without the security Anti Virus software, then you'll know the culprit. Then you can reinstall the AV software and see if you can set it up...
  12. Re: How do you make title of song to appear first

yes, classical naming requires a lot more thought. I'm not helpful for that. Out of about 9,000 CDs I have about 50 classical.

and when ripping you can make the titles as short as you...
  13. Re: How do you make title of song to appear first

that string makes no sense. it doesn't have any naming for track titles at all or track numbers and has maxlength in two places. very odd. What do you want the folder/subfolder and file names to be?

Re: Ref 17.1 unable to rip cds

Sorry, no suggestions here, other than uninstall and start over. But I just wanted to report that I'm running 17.1 on two different Windows 10 PCs and not seeing any of these issues. My AV software...
  15. Re: How do you make title of song to appear first

    yes,

    1. install the ARRANGE AUDIO utility codec from "codec central" link at the top of this page
    2. run dbpa BATCH CONVERTER, select the top directory of your music files and this should select...
  16. Re: How do you make title of song to appear first

This would do it. But as Spoon says, it is likely your player using tags (as any good player/server would!) and not the file names themselves. Also keep in mind that using the naming string below,...

    Re: Volume Normalization

Particularly if you also maintain an archival library that hasn't had the audio modified. Then you can have your main library and a second library for use in autos and other portable devices.

  18. Re: I read this about DB Poweramp. Is this true?

sorry, this statement about dbpa ability to do secure rip and the source of AccurateRip info only being EAC is complete and utter nonsense. It's so wrong I can't even begin to explain how misinformed...
  19. Re: 2nd attempt at ripping a CD got fast Accurate rip after 1st try had frames to re-

yes, all is ok with those rips that got AR matches. Happens occasionally with me as well. Sometimes I wipe the CD after ejecting and starting over, but sometime very small things can be an issue and...

    Re: Hdcd dsp

But to be clear, dbpa did NOT decode the SACD to 24 bit. dbpa did not extract the SACD layer. It decoded the regular CD layer (that is also contained on the SACD physical disk) to HDCD. This "CD...

In my personal opinion, this option is silly. But at least those that believe WAV files sound better than FLAC (of course they never do this in a real double blind test) can use FLAC and get the...
