  1. Re: Edit ID tags for mp3 files in multiple folders

Rearranging is no big problem with dBpa (if your files have disc numbers as tag)...

  2. Re: Edit ID tags for mp3 files in multiple folders

    Hey kajh,

life would be easier if you rip all CDs of an audio book to one folder. If you add the disc number as a prefix to the generated filenames you could still tell which chapter belongs...

Re: Not able to convert into mp3 format

Is your disk full like the error message suggests? Do you use any security software which might reject dBpa to write to the desktop?

  4. Re: macOS Mojave, ripping speed only possible with (Maximum)

Sorry to say, but forget about this voodoo stuff. Ripping is a digital read out of data and in case of accurate rip digitally compared to other digital read outs.

Re: Where is the Mac version for dBpoweramp?

    1) Your license is not valid for the Mac. You have to buy another license, but you will get a discount.
    2) The trial can be found in the product section.

    Re: Slow Ripping

If I've googled right, the disc has been released in the year 2001. That could mean that it is copyprotected. You can try to rip it as "defective by design".

  10. Re: Seamless playback seems inconsistent at best

For a gapless playback you have to use a player which is able to play gapless.

    Hey Floyd,

yes, you can. Because flac compression is lossless (like zip and other data compression algotrithms), you can convert back and forth between different compression levels without any...

Re: Batch convert from mp3 to FLAC Lossless

    Hey Floyd,

you're mixing up different kinds of compression. Flac compression is lossless, just a compression based on the data, the digital values. It's like zip compression - you can convert back...

    Re: Mqa

Aside the controversial discaussion about the sound quality, a MQA codec would have to be licensed from MQA Ltd. Do we need another lossy codec we have to pay for on top?

  21. Re: New drive - have a few questions - please help!

As Spoon said before, dBpa on MacOS will only use the offset value in the online databse. So there is no need to fiddle around with that valu for you. If you get accurate rips, there is even no need...
  22. Re: New drive - have a few questions - please help!

A rip is accurate or not - that is like a black and white descision. There nothing in between.

Re: Higher sample offset = worse drive?

The offset is specific for a drive. AFAIK without the right offset for your drive you will not achieve an accurate rip (a different checksum).

  25. Re: CD-Ripper 16.6 Finds Metadata (Sometimes) and then (sometimes) discards it.

    Hey Dennis,

CD Ripper has to read the TOC of the CD before it can query the meatdata from the databases. The TOC (table of content) contains the number of tracks, their track length etc. Based...
