    Re: Metadata Numpty

When you say "Jethro Tull" is going under "T", do you mean in your music player/library (and what is it that you are using?) or do you mean in the case of file explorer (listing of files and folders...

    Re: Still confused about offsets

To be clear, you take these same exact files and play them on a completely different system (not your phone, not your computer, not anything in your system, but some entirely other playback chain)? ...

    Re: Path to Hard Drive

Is the CD ripper running on Host computer? I'm guessing no.
  5. Re: Software Incompatible With Microstf/Dell Update

I have a new Dell laptop and an older Dell laptop. Both have all updates installed and I have no issues with dbpoweramp. All works properly.

    Re: Quality question at FLAC

Of course he's 100% wrong thinking that only a Mac and XLD can get perfect audio results.. Time to just write off this customer as an idiot and move on. As they say, you can't fix stupid.

    p.s. XLD...

    Re: Quality question at FLAC

interesting. Not surprising he thinks his rips sound better (in blind tests, even small increases in volume have led to listener's rating it as "better"). Very odd though, as unless his ripper is...

    Re: Quality question at FLAC

As noted, something is odd here, and it is NOT the FLAC codec in dbpoweramp. There seem to be a few oddballs out there that start claiming that a WAV file copied from one computer to another sounds...

    Re: Rip Status 'Inaccurate'

first, most ripping programs are not secure rippers. They don't report when something has a error. Second, an inccurate maybe a tiny error or difference (not audible) or not even an error, but just...

    Re: Still confused about offsets

Have you tried these files on some other computer or player (maybe a friends). Something is not normal and it has nothing to do with offsets. But you shouldn't be getting these pops.

    edit: Your...

    Re: Still confused about offsets

agree. I've suggested he install foobar2000 mobile app on the iphone as a player (check app store). It will automatically access the songs from the same library as the music player uses, so it's easy...

Re: Ripping A CD for Sound Optimization

That is a nice way of saying, no, this idea is simply crazy and more of the typical audiophool nonsense.

The folders I add to the bottom section of the screen (music library) that opens up when I start PerfectTunes program are saved and used everytime I run PerfectTunes. See picture:

the music player on my iphone/ipad will play gapless (if I have gapless source material). I've only tried this with mp3 files.

    Re: Still confused about offsets

correct. Should NOT be any pops. And I very much doubt this has anything at all to do with offsets. I play music some on my iPhone and have no issues. Then again, I do NOT use aiff or ALAC.

    Re: Not in AccurateRip

I find it takes anywhere from a month to 2 months for new releases to get populated to accuraterip (takes longer it seems if not many people are ripping the CD).

    Re: Still confused about offsets

Maybe I missed it, but what codec are you ripping the files to (FLAC, mp3, m4a, ALAC, WAV, or ???). And what player are you using. Many years ago I had a "pop" problem with m4a files on a squeezebox...

    Re: Accuraterip problems

I see this relatively often. It's not an error. It's just that your pressing of the CD is not likely the one that's in AccurateRip.
  25. Re: Compilation Cd's show up as individual folders

Yes, I often have to manually edit my metadata on multidisk compilations before or after ripping because of inconsistencies across the disks. The metadata databases certainly have a bit of...
