Virus warning - is it dBpoweramp?

Does dBpowertamp generate temporary files in the format dBP*.tmp in the "temp" folder?

Recently, my virus software (Avast5) has been generating "suspicious file" warnings for files in this format....
  4. Re: Mirroring original folder structure for batch conversions?

garym -- thank you for setting me on the right path. I had played around with [TRIMFIRSTFOLDER], but hadn't really understood it properly. Your help made me play around some more.

    All that was...
  5. Re: Mirroring original folder structure for batch conversions?

Yes, plenty! The first level is FLAC\Pop and FLAC\Classical and then numerous sublevels, so an extreme example would be:

    G:\Music\FLAC\Classical\Mozart\Orchestral\Piano concertos\Piano concertos -...
  6. Mirroring original folder structure for batch conversions?

I'm probably missing something very simple here, but I'll ask the question...

I have my original files in: C:\Music\FLAC
    I create: C:\Music\OGG

I want to use the Batch Converter to mirror the...

    Re: DSP Effects R6

The rule-based tag manipulation dialogue does not seem to be Unicode-aware. Example: when I save this:

    IF Composer=[anyvalue]
    SET Composer=Janá&*blooper*269;ek

    it becomes

    IF...
  9. Re: A script to automatically edit metadata as it is retrieved?

Could you expand on this, please? Is this a new addition to the PerfectMeta setup?
  10. Re: A script to automatically edit metadata as it is retrieved?

Well, dizwell, I have to say that that felt more like a lecture than a contribution.

I choose to remove data for the simple reason that most devices I use to access music (Squeezebox, MP3 players...
  11. Re: A script to automatically edit metadata as it is retrieved?

Thank you for the responses. In case anyone else grapples with this problem, here's what I ended up doing.

When looking for solutions to a problem like this, it is so easy to over-complicate...
  12. Re: A script to automatically edit metadata as it is retrieved?

Thank you. That's a very valuable addition to the toolkit and I will find many uses for it.

However, it doesn't actually solve my current problem...I am trying to apply the manipulation as the...
  13. A script to automatically edit metadata as it is retrieved?

Is it possible to build a script to filter metadata when it is first imported? I have just begun ripping my rather large classical CD collection, and although the CD Ripper metadata feature saves a...

    Re: Meta Data problem

Perfect Meta was checked. But I unchecked everything and restarted the program, then I checked everything and restarted the program. And now Alt+M works again. Not logical perhaps, but I wasn't too...

    Re: Meta Data problem

Assuming that means that all the sources are "ticked" in the meta menu, then yes, they are selected.

I can retrieve data from each source by using the "retrieve from" menu and going through each...

    Re: Meta Data problem

I'm also having a similar problem. It was working fine during my trial, so I know it's not security software, but since I bought the program and the AMG licence, it's stopped working!

    It is...

Re: Padding of track number in filename

Thanks for the response. Are you saying that the two-digit track number in the filename cannot be manipulated (other than manually changing them to single digit after ripping)?

Re: map multiple tags to a single tag

Thanks for the quick response. Any plans to introduce MP3Tag-style actions in dBpoweramp?
  19. Re: which portable audio mp3 players support gapless?

Yes, it's amazing how few players support gapless. I can only assume that none of the people who design and build these players have ever listened to a classical album in their lives.

    I still use...

map multiple tags to a single tag

I am just setting out on the task of ripping all my classical CDs.

I plan to follow what is now more or less a convention when ripping classical discs: each work on a CD will be ripped as an...

Padding of track number in filename

I'm sure the answer to this must be staring me in the face, but I'm still having difficulty working my way through the program's labyrinthine settings structure....

In my MetaData options I have...
