Ok thanks, I will try. I had assumed this was an Asset issue, but now I think about it . . .
I will post back here with a solution should I get one.
I am struggling to figure out how to play all tracks from a genre. This sounds like it should be simple…
I am using Asset UPnP on macos, Naim streamer and Naim iOS control app.
So I choose...
I am using the licensed version of PerfectTunes for macOS (v2.1). I'm a new user so perhaps I am being dumb, if so please forgive me.
I am in Lists & Recommendations for Artists. PerfectTunes...
Resolved... by reinstalling the Naim app.
The plot thickens . . .
I just discovered that the Naim iOS app for iPhone works as expected: click on Artists then I see *, A, B, C, etc; click on a letter and you get the artists whose name...
The player is a Naim NAC-N 272, similar to the Uniti range. I'm using the Naim iOS app.
No, I have chose the Reset to Default option just to be sure.
I'm having problems getting Asset to show a list of my artists. When I select "Artist" from the top level menu I get these choices:
01 [All Artists]
02 [A..]
03 [B..]
04 [C..]
05 [D..]
etc.....
Thats great, I will give it a go then!
I am currently running Asset on OSX Mavericks and would like to upgrade to Yosemite. Can anybody tell me if Asset works ok with Yosemite before I take the plunge?
Hi Niko and thanks for your investigations!
I discovered that other UPnP software did handle the Album Artist tag properly, unlike Asset. However, they all had other problems which were worse, so...
Ok thats great. Do you know approximately when the next release is due?
I've done some more testing by trying out Allegro Media Server - this correctly shows track artist on compilations. So I have tried different clients and different server applications, only Asset...
Thanks for your help so far Spoon. Unfortunately even after a rescan, I still see "Various Artists" - even though the files themselves don't say that anywhere! Something (I don't know what) is...
Well it turns out that Linn Kazoo Server has issues too - which I won't go into here.
So I have gone back to Asset to try and solve my Various Artist problem. I have installed a tagging...
So I experimented a little last night...
I tried Logitech Media Server first; it correctly shows the Track Artist instead of Album Artist - but sadly none of the files would play and no album...
So if I open up one of my compilations in dbPoweramp / mp3Tag will I spot some missing information that iTunes did not fill in?
Is there some sort of batch process whereby I can "fix" all my...
Thats not an option for me as I have a household full of iDevices and we use iTunes Match too. Chances are if I "fixed" files with MP3Tag, that iTunes would "break" it again.
I shouldn't need to...
File type is ALAC. The files were tagged using iTunes.
I'm beginning to think I will have to try a different UPnP server as Asset and Naim just don't seem to work together properly. Frustrating because, otherwise, Asset has been solid (and I didn't...
Naim tech support tell me that n-Stream shows the "Artist" field as is passed from the server. So Asset UPnP must be passing "Album Artist" instead of "Artist".
How can I change this behaviour...
I really don't want to mess about with the tagging on all my tracks. Why can't Asset or nStream (not sure which is at fault) just do it properly?
I have tried with a different app (mconnect) and I still only see "Various Artists" for artist name on Compilations.
Hello,
I am using the full version of Asset UPnP on Mac OSX and am using a Naim streamer with the n-Stream iOS app. All is working very well apart from one small niggle.
I have many compilations...
