  1. Re: "Detecting Gaps / Indexes" - what exactly is it? And can the box be moved?

Yes, it all makes sense now... And yes, I'll be getting rid of that column :)

If you do end up looking into it, would you also be able to look at why the same thing happens with the CD Ripper...
  2. Re: "Detecting Gaps / Indexes" - what exactly is it? And can the box be moved?

Right, ok - that makes perfect sense.

So would I be right in saying that unless I intend to DO something with the track gaps, there is no point in having the column there in the first place? Or...
  3. Re: "Detecting Gaps / Indexes" - what exactly is it? And can the box be moved?

    Thanks Spoon.

Any thoughts on the first part my original post RE hiding/moving the notification or choosing which screen it comes up on?

And I'm also interested ot know why others do not have...
  4. Re: "Detecting Gaps / Indexes" - what exactly is it? And can the box be moved?

OK, so here are the screenshots. I'd be mighty surprised if they were not to do with DBPA

Perhaps someone else can say whether they have/haven't seen this before? And maybe Spoon can shed...
  5. Re: "Detecting Gaps / Indexes" - what exactly is it? And can the box be moved?

    Hi

Thanks for the replies. I don't have and never have had EAC installed so it is nothing to do with that...

How strange! I'm pretty certain it is DBPA doing it. When I load the disc,...
  6. "Detecting Gaps / Indexes" - what exactly is it? And can the box be moved?

    Hi again

The Detecting Gaps / Detecting Indexes box that comes up when you first put in a CD is presumably a new-ish feature. It wasn't there in R14.4...

Anyhow, is it possible to hide or...
  7. Control Center Set up and Windows Explorer Columns Questions.

    Hi all

I'm just putting the finishing touches to my DBPA settings, after having upgraded to R16.4 a couple of months back. I'm still unsure about a small handful of things and wondered if anyone...
  8. Re: How best to load JUST newly ripped albums into Batch Converter?

I'm guessing not because I just went ahead and did it straight away and the tracks are now passing the Test Conversion without issue :) Very helpful indeed. Thanks Gary.
  9. Re: How best to load JUST newly ripped albums into Batch Converter?

Fantastic! Didn't even know that these options were available :) I'll give that a go. Many thanks for the heads up.
  10. Re: How best to load JUST newly ripped albums into Batch Converter?

I'm in the UK. Not exactly sure what the rules are here, but at the end of the day I don't think I am alone. And far worse crimes are committed (not by me I hasten to add :) )

    So I think I'll...
  11. Re: How best to load JUST newly ripped albums into Batch Converter?

That explains things RE Windows and why the option disappeared...

So the corruption test just tests whether the files are corrupting due to hard drive failure? Is that it? If not, what else...
  12. How best to load JUST newly ripped albums into Batch Converter?

    Hi all

    Following on from this thread:

    https://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?40761-quot-FLAC-Audio-File-Passed-Verification-quot-what-about-when-it-doesn-t-pass

    I am going to untick...
  13. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

That's interesting... So every time you rip you leave your computer well alone and don't do anything on it while the rip is in progress? If that's the case, may I ask why? Have you heard of it...
  14. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

I thought he said it does not work as people expect it to, rather than it not working correctly.

Anyhow, I'll just untick it then, ignore what it says in the manual, and use Test Conversion from...
  15. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

Maybe other people are not having the same problem and it is therefore irrelevant to them?

If you guys or any other users were coming on here to say that the same thing was happening and so we...
  16. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

Thanks Jailhouse for the info and the reassurance. It is nice to know I'm not the only person out there who stresses over these minor things. I guess I'll just do as you say and carry on...
  17. Re: Change List Order of Genre Drop-Down Menu (need non-alphabetical)

You are right, that's exactly what happened! Sorry, I was having a total dumb moment :) All good for me though as numerical order is what I want anyhow...
  18. Re: Change List Order of Genre Drop-Down Menu (need non-alphabetical)

I presume the rules are different for numbers then? I have my own genre system, and all of my genres are prefixed with a number. When I hit the drop down menu in CD Ripper, the genres are all in...
  19. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

The help file / manual has this to say:

"After Encoding Verify Written Audio - once compression is complete the compressed audio will be read and compared to the source, verifying the compression...
  20. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

I see what you're saying. But if it is not doing the function we both thought it was doing, what function IS it doing? That's what I'm interested to know. Although saying that I did not even have...
  21. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

So in what circumstances might there be "an error in our code"?

And if there were, what would happen?

And if some tracks in my rips don't have "an error in our/the code", why are they not...
  22. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

    Any further thoughts please Spoon?
  23. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

Thanks for the reply Spoon, and nice to hear from you.

I must admit that I do not fully understand what you are saying though. I can confirm that even when the verify message is NOT present in...
  24. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

    OK, fair enough.

I couldn't see a sub-forum for reporting potential bugs. @Spoon, if you read this are you able to confirm it logged as a bug? Might it be addressed in the next release? Or...
  25. Re: "FLAC: Audio File Passed Verification" - what about when it doesn't pass?

Sorry for the stupidly long delay in responding. It really has been super busy here!!!

The behaviour seems to be random. There's no discernible pattern that I can see, and it is different...
