This is your first post. You have not described your problem with any details. The program works well for many thousands of users. If you post more details I am sure folks here can help you.
I had the same issue. Tried twice. It downloads, but never gets to the "install" phase. But I solved this by going to illustrate, entering my order number, and then re-downloading the install .exe...
Just buy the current version of dbpa Reference. It is available for Windows or Mac. $48.

aha, it's under CD ROM Technical information.
Look under options > ripping method > secure (secure settings). It may be there. I'm away from my computer.
yes, leave as is. sound quality is not effected at all.
One can always add ReplayGain tags at any time after ripping. Use converter and convert to the ReplayGain DSP. Select both album and track in the settings to add both tags.
correct, but you'll have some manual steps after ripping no matter what. This at least creates a single ALBUM folder instead of spreading out tracks in different folders (and that's true even if if...
To do this automatically, I would put "Multiple Composer" as the value in ALBUM ARTIST tag. Then rip to [Album Artist]\[Album]\[Track] - [Title]
Then the ripped files would all show up in a folder...
So for you, multiple composers means that different tracks have different composers, but for any individual track, the composer tag has only a single composer. I was thinking by multi-composer that...
agree. I'd install the32bit version, convert all my shn to FLAC, then uninstall 32bit version and install 64bit version for future use.
This has nothing to do with dbpa. It has to do with the preferences of the computer where the files reside. I have all audio types set to use foobar2000 on my Win11 computer.
Already available option in ripper settings.
Very interesting. Thanks!
Sorry your examples are not clear to me. Provide some exact details of different types of situations and exactly what you would want the folders and sub folders to be named and file name with...
I use this on my windows machine. Handles various artists, multi disks, single disks, album artist or just artist. (this is windows. for Mac replace backslash with forwardslash)
...
@schmidj yes, that sounds more like what he is asking now that I think about it more.
yes. Usually. Just curious. Why rip CDs then reburn them and rip again?
I may have misinterpreted your question. If you RIP CDs with dbpa and add metadata, this metadata will be associated with your files on virtually any server/player. But in rereading, you mention...
yes, and many (most) other server/players.
Agree, but note this playback is not intended to be a player for digital files. It can allow playback of a CD that you have inserted to rip. Maybe useful for checking songs if you don't want to rip...
Dbpa is a ripper and converter, not a server/player. Consider foobar2000 as server/player.
I personally use 1000x1000, jpg.
I rip to FLAC, use "ultrasecure" ripping option, and only DSP used in ripping is REPLAYGAIN (which adds Album and Track RG tags). I don't enable embedding album art and instead have it create a...
