If you want a detailed answer, see this http://xiph.org/flac/features.html but if you want a simplistic answer, it consists of PCM samples where redundant information like repetitions is compactly...
I wonder if the problem could be due to something like his system clock time (Now) having a value earlier than the time stamp on his files. Just a thought..
Also if the track was not in the AR database at the time it was ripped and CD ripper writes the tag "not in database", then if you run Perfecttunes some months later when the track has now been added...
How often does the AR database get updated? I checked www.accuaraterip.com and it still says "updated February 2014" even though today is April 1st (and that is not a joke either...)
I am running Windows 7. When scanning a library of 12000 tracks on a USB HDD it works fine. But when scanning a much smaller library on a network share (HDD on another Windows 7 machine) it freezes.
Does this mean that two completely different CDs have the same disc id? i.e. that disc id is not a unique code?
I just tried v1.6 on my library, and it reports 17 albums under "Albums Not Present". The detailed report is listed below.
Two out of the 17 albums have a detailed listing of all tracks that are not...
I have two copies of the same CD, and unfortunately both copies of the CD have ripping errors on the same track. I suppose that the errors are not in exactly the same place on both CDs, so I wonder...
I am guessing that PerfectTunes is using Windows API calls to iterate over folders and find changes in the file system (so it can find any tracks that changed since the last scan); and perhaps there...
If you rip a track in CD Ripper v15, it adds a tag showing if the track is in the AccurateRip database or not. And when PerfectTunes scans that track, it checks that tag, and if the tag says the...
It is a bad disk. Try washing it. (Seriously...)
Is PerfectTunes checking a different AccurateRip database than CD Ripper is checking?
In some cases I get different behaviours from PerfectTunes and CD Ripper.
1) Today I used PerfectTunes to...
BTW here is a screen shot...
Norton has confirmed it was a false alarm and has updated its definitions.
I also experienced a hang with v1.5 - but it was at the very end of the checking with AccurateRip part of the process. In my case the progress bar reached 100% and then stayed at that level for 6...

Symantec has updated their virus definitions.
I have informed Norton Symantec just now.

HI Spoon
Do you want the actual music tracks? Or just the error log?
^
Ping! Hi Spoon, can you please explain the difference between these two error messages? (One having the "Track not present" prefix, and the other without this prefix...)
Ok. I tried R1.5. But it still reports some albums / tracks as "Track Not Present in AccurateRip" and other albums / tracks just listing the file name.
What is the difference between these two...
