Thanks guys! I&*8217;m going to use the largest USB SSD drive I can afford. My digital library is growing exponentially!

I&*8217;m in a Mac environment, BTW. So, I&*8217;ll look for other...
  2. Re: Verify that FLAC file is still an accurate rip a year later

Thanks Gary. Now I just have to figure out the best way to get the 1T of music onto my external drive from the internal hard drive. Does anyone know of any software that would make that easier or...
  3. Re: Verify that FLAC file is still an accurate rip a year later

Thanks so much, Spoon. I feel like a real dummy when I can&*8217;t find this stuff. You all are so helpful. Cool. So I can just run a check on all of my files once I get them moved. Do you think I...
  4. Re: Verify that FLAC file is still an accurate rip a year later

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

Thanks GB. I was wondering about that tag. I'll try it on my next rip and see if Audirvana reacts to it. I would probably add the "the" at the end after a comma.

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

Thanks. An MBID tag will show up once in a while. Not sure what that is.

I think I'm ready to start ripping in earnest. I still have a little bit of a hiccup in Audirvana with various artists...

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

No. The disc number is not appended to the album title. Each subfolder is titled CD01, CD02 etc. This is my file structure:

My discs on multidisciplinary sets are labeled CD01, CD02 etc.

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

Thanks for the clarification Gary. I think I have that sorted out.

Sim - I don't see that I have a Disctotal or Disc tag available? Where is it and why do I need it? Thanks.

Gary - Can you add album artist sort to your various artists string? I would appreciate it. I think that will do it for me.

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

Simbun- I used your string without the year and I noticed that their isn''t a folder.jpg in each individual file like there was in the original string. Is this dependent on the CD being ripped?

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

Yeah. I'm going to see about a metadata editing program for Mac. Does the C2 capability of the drive matter? Mine says that it doesn't do it.

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

Thanks guys. Yeah, Simbun, I&*8217;m over 50, I need names in things! Close to finalizing my string. Slightly OT, when you download a hirez flac file, does it have metadata similar to a cd?
