  1. Re: Error 4GB wave limit reached, consider enabling RIFF64 support.

Except when you're trying to use a wave to AC3 converter for movie audio...
  2. Re: Error 4GB wave limit reached, consider enabling RIFF64 support.

Ah well, I ended up just converting it to 16 bit instead of 24 bit wave and that made it smaller than 4GB.
  3. Error 4GB wave limit reached, consider enabling RIFF64 support.

How do I enabling RIFF64 support?

    Re: Converted file uneditable

To me it sounds like you have some media program open that's "Using" the file even if it's not supposed to.
For example, I like to use MPC to play movies, but that thing locks all the files in the...

Re: Anyway to improve MP3 sound on my PC ?

Also, it unchecks those settings with random updates. Just now, when I was going through the steps to make sure I'm telling you correctly, I found they had been unchecked.
    Personally I have, and...

Re: Anyway to improve MP3 sound on my PC ?

Windows applies a nasty 'Laptop speaker enhancer' setting by default on most sound cards and devices.
Under control panel (Windows key + r, for run. Type control and press enter to open control...

    Re: 43.2 kHz

I only mentioned that because I was surprised it is an option. I also see no actual use in the ability to create non-standard sample rate wav files, but it has that ability regardless.
    Anyway, at...
  8. Re: Wish List: CD Ripper would read CD title & tracks like iTunes if not in databases

And if they do, it's ultra cringy or lazy. Like all caps lettering, or Artist name tacked onto each track.

    Re: 43.2 kHz

I also just realized that GoldWave will let you create a wav file at any sample rate you want.
  10. Re: When Ripping HDCD, how do I know when a HDCD is detected?

A couple of things to add to what's been said:
Yes ripping to flac will keep the HD-ness, but then you still have to play it with something that can decode it. I prefer to have dBpoweramp decode it...

Re: Having trouble ripping Blue Note CD

Sorry. The only suggestion I can think of is to try as many drives as you can.

    Re: 43.2 kHz

Checkout GoldWave. It has a Pitch manipulation function. I tried out a song to see what your opening post would sound like. It does not allow for the precision you put, but it should be enough.

Re: New external drive vibrates like hell

I have some CDs that do vibrate a lot. I just hold it down while it's running.

If the same CD doesn't vibrate on another drive, I'd say your drive is defective.

    Re: External CD/DVD Drive 2021

The drive only matters if you're ripping hidden first tracks. My very expensive Blu-ray drive just produces silence on them. The 5 dollar one, that probably got pulled out of a Dell, works just fine....

    Re: Suggestions for standard tags

Maybe there is a way to edit what tags pop up in the 'add' list?
I too would like to add some tags to the list so that I don't have to type them out each time.
I'm not talking about standard tags,...

    dBpoweramp Music Converter is awesome!

I have never liked it when the next song comes on and it's ULTRA LOUD. Same if it's too quiet.
Once I found that I could apply the EBU R128 standard to all my music with dMC, I was fully onboard....
  17. Re: dBpoweramp Music Converter DSP reference for command line usage

    Thanks, that helped.
Now I just have to figure out why it's so hard to read all of the digits put into a custom tag on a wav file.

Personally, I just used one of the ways that can be found online to revert the right click menu in Windows 11 back to its old glory. Though it would be nice if dBpoweramp came up with a solution, I...
  19. dBpoweramp Music Converter DSP reference for command line usage

I'm not finding more than this as a reference on how to use DSPs while running dMC from the command line.
All the help files for the codec CLIs have references, but not the help file for DSPs.
    I...
  20. Re: Is there any way to make 2 channels 7.1 surround sounded?

Your closest chance is wma pro, and only if wherever you're uploading this to accepts that format. I'm only saying it has a chance because most programs assume the wma file extension means standard...

    Re: dBpower and Win11 issue

I saw that they did that in a Windows 11 preview Linus Tech Tips did. I think they need to scrap that on the Windows 11 side of things before they release it.
  22. Re: Distortion when converting lossless wma to wave

Oh good. If it was not that, I would have suggested converting to flac, then burning. That's what I have to do every time one of my wmas produces something incorrect.
