  1. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

Another thing is that the files copied using Finder does not have the ID tag info. So manually adding these along with reorganizing them into consistent directory structure is also a pain.
  2. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

Normally I can too. But there are some CDs that won’t rip, some of these will get into the reriping mode. Some will just go through the tracks showing error. But if the Mac can get the tracks out...
  3. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

Yes, it seems like iTunes is ripping them because the names did not change before iTunes was open. It seemed to have changed while I first tried to copy. In the middle of the first attempt to copy....
  4. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

Another interesting thing. I just looked at another CD that could not be ripped. On the MacBook, with iTunes running in the background, all file names show up like this:
    1897
    All files can be...
  5. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

This CD. Seems it could be a mixed mode CD. I have copied the files to disk on a MacBook , and it plays. Now I need to figure out out to convert the file names.

  6. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

I am confused because with the same CD, on the Mac using "Finder" I see the audio aiff files. On Windows 7 file manager, I see the contents that show only 1KB size files. On either machine under...
  7. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

This is weird, if I look at CD contents under Windows it becomes like this:
    1895
  8. Re: Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

Thanks for the responses. The detail situation is that when I plug the CD in, I see all the meta data like this:
    1892
    But I cannot rip.
Then I looked at the contents of the CD, it has these:...
  9. Converting CD that has individual wav or other file types

  10. Re: Ripped in Windows want correct title display in Mac

I guess I need to find out as well. There seemed to be a similar issue running in Windows for a while in earlier versions, but later versions seemed to work right most of the time.
  11. Re: Ripped in Windows want correct title display in Mac

I don't recall seeing options to select character code, when I ripped from Windows. Does converting to FLAC automatically use Unicode for the id tag or is there an option to set it somewhere?
  12. Re: Ripped in Windows want correct title display in Mac

So if I convert all the existing files to FLAC then it should work? Or do I have to re-rip?
  13. Re: Ripped in Windows want correct title display in Mac

I am using Jriver Media Center under Windows and OS X, and most track titles are displayed correctly under Windows, but under OS X, most titles with a language other than English is not shown...

  17. Re: Wish to change music signal absolute polarity

    Bump. Hope it's not forgotten.
The more I improve the playback system, the more important I find this. Really would be nice to be able to select tracks to convert as well as the whole album while...

    Re: [Encode Local] Utility Codec

"When used with DSP effects which add ID Tags after encoding (such as ReplayGain), this information would not be written to the final file."
    Can this be worked around?

    Triangular Probability Density Function

I've came across this "Triangular Probability Density Function" for conversions. Any comments on how this would compare against what dbpoweramp is using now?

Re: Improved HDCD information and logging

I have some questions regarding HDCD, and wonder whether anyone has experience with it or not.

    1. My understanding is that HDCD is supposed to solve nonlinearities in the ADC/DAC. Would'nt that...
