Re: Hoe do I rip a cd with no passages...

In my experience, issues with VLC as an audio player keep cropping up. I guess this is due to the software development emphasis being video playback. Foobar2000 is also my personal choice for audio...

Re: Need advice before ripping collection to FLAC

    A note on sort tags.

If you populate Artist/Album Artist as Elvis Presley or Composer as Frédéric Chopin (i.e. firstname lastname) and want the Artist/Album Artist to be sorted under P rather than...

Re: Need advice before ripping collection to FLAC

To view/edit tags for individual tracks, select (highlight) a single track then, in the Tag tab select a tag and the value can be viewed/edited. Users are able to select multiple tracks and view/edit...

Re: Artist/Album View Shows Wrong Artist

Yes, it may be a bug. If all the tracks with Album=Full Circle have the Album Artist tag populated with Drowning Pool or Creed, then you should see 2 separate albums.

Re: Artist/Album View Shows Wrong Artist

In most metadata software, Artist is per track, while Album Artist is per album. The Illustrate software uses the Album/Album Sort tags and the Album Artist/Album Artist Sort tags to identify unique...

Re: skips or truncated mp3 files

If there is no network involved, it's difficult to know what is going wrong with the batch conversion, with the sketchy info provided here. You could at least run Test Conversion on the flac files,...

Re: skips or truncated mp3 files

Firstly, I would run Test Conversion on all the flac files.

What player is exhibiting these skips/truncation issues?

Please can you provide more info on your playback system, and where the flac...

Re: Embedded Album Art no longer showing

For me, not seeing embedded artwork icons in File Explorer is not an issue, as long as I see the correct artwork in my audio player(s). My player is foobar2000 and my flac files show the foobar2000...

Are you converting to a folder that is being monitored by any other software?
  18. Re: Normal Audio CD to rip in higher resolution?

ALL red-book audio CDs (CDDA) are 44.1 kHz, 16-bit.

It is technically possible to change the bit rate and sampling rate when ripping CDDA in CD Ripper, by using DSPs.

    Users may have a...
  19. Re: Normal Audio CD to rip in higher resolution?

It IS possible, but makes no sense as you will NOT get higher resolution than the original source i.e. 16-bit, 44.1kHz.

    Re: Style/Content Group Tag Issue

No, you thought wrong. The multi-value tag separator/delimiter is dependant on the metadata format e.g. ID3, Vorbis etc.

Also, it gets more confusing, when there is no standard across metadata...
  24. Re: Batch Ripping CDs with No Metadata (dB Ripper just overwrites existing files?)

Edit your Naming string, so any unknown artist albums (folders) are replaced by cddb_id. Then, no files/folders are overwritten.
  25. Re: Variations in mastering? CD ripping a flawed process?

Padding isn't an issue, but software that misinterprets a file format is an issue.

schmidj is correct, the problem lies with certain player software. If you playback digital audio, crudely, at a...
