  1. Re: OT - what is the forum software being used here?

Thanks, I thought it might be but didn't see the tag at the bottom.

  2. OT - what is the forum software being used here?

I'm setting up a forum (unrelated to music conversion or media) and am looking at different software options. I'd like to know what app is used here.

Re: Convert files with RG effect added (not tags)

I meant that the files appeared unchanged, no equlization of songs at different levels.

I had assumed that some alteration to a file would make some change to file size, however small

Re: Convert files with RG effect added (not tags)

I used Volume Normalize with the Replay Gain method. I did it again with the Peak method. No difference.

Re: Convert files with RG effect added (not tags)

I just used Volume Normalize with a batch of a couple of hundred files for a playlist. I first converted the files from a variety of formats (flac, mp3, m4a, wma, etc) to MP3-320. Then I converted...

Re: Convert files with RG effect added (not tags)

Great. I see that the DSP Volume Normalize might be better for me, since I might only use the effect in the car, don't use RG on my home systems.

Am I correct in understanding that when invoked...

Convert files with RG effect added (not tags)

I'm creating a set of playlists for use in my car. They come from different albums with different volume levels. I'd like to use ReplayGain to make them a bit more similar in volume level. I'll play...

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

Yes, it is a fully functional external drive on the remote server, with a drive letter. I can do anything I want on it, including writing a text file or creating a folder or copying files. Or have...

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

The point is that the remote drive IS accessible to Windows (and to other applications), although it might take two or three seconds to respond if it was sleeping. In my case, waking up the drive so...

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

It's now a VERY old thread, but I still have the problem, post migration to Win10 on my main computer. I can access the remote drive (an external drive on the FitPC3) perfectly with any software...

    Multiple genres?

How do I get multiple genres set up from the CD Ripper interface? In MP3Tag I can use double backslashes, but am unsure of the protocol in dBp.

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

I'll try that sometime, but it's really not convenient. I rip a lot of CDs, and to have to log out of LMS every time I do so is a non-starter, especially having to do it remotely. I'll be better...

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

I think it's just something I'll have to live with. It's an issue only with dBp (Winamp and WMP have no difficulty ripping to the remote drive). In fact, dBp used to work just fine in this context,...

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

This seems unlikely. dBp works perfectly well writing to locations on my primary computer, where Norton lives. The problems outlined on this linked thread refer to issues of apparently older...

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

No security software other than Norton. I used to think that renewing the access was the solution but not the case. One recent sequence:

I try with dBp; no luck.

I access the remote drive with...

Re: Unable to write to remote drive

The question is why dBp can't write to the drive when EVERY OTHER application, including ripping apps, can do so. Hard to believe that there is no way to understand this peculiar behavior.

Unable to write to remote drive

I have had this problem before, periodically. I am having it again. It has become extremely frustrating.

I am set up to rip to three locations at once, through multi-encoder. The first is flac...

Re: Can't copy music onto a blank CD

Yes, I thought of that after my post, given that you have to download and install the wma codec in dBp. But dBp does have some advantages from the point of view of tag control, although that is...

Re: Can't copy music onto a blank CD

I have just a couple of observations.

First, I think that CD Writer (available on this site) is a perfectly ok CD writing software that works with flacs or pretty much anything else. There are...

Re: Batch Convert from a Playlist

Yes, I've thought of that. There are some issues.

In my primary archive, where all the flacs go, there are actually four file types. The flacs, obviously; legacy ripped CDs which were originally...
