Re: mp3 volume problem after conversion

It's a bad idea to convert a lossy file (like m4a or mp3) to another lossy format. It will potentially decrease the audio quality of the tracks. If you must do this, you should convert at a very...

  3. Re: Does up-res'ing really improve the sound if the source is mp3 or AAC?

As noted. NO. Upsampling doesn't do anything but make the file size larger. The actual audio is not changed.
  4. Re: Getting higher volume levels when applying RG

not sure. I've never paid that much attention to this, I don't disable clip prevention and all my players can use replaygain tags.
  5. Re: Getting higher volume levels when applying RG

    I agree
  6. Re: Getting higher volume levels when applying RG

When you add ReplayGain tags with the ReplayGain DSP, under advance settings you can change the LUFS value from the default of "-18" to something smaller (say, -12). This will reduce the volume less...
  7. Re: A little help converting FLAC files, please.

No. If the FLAC files were ripped from a gapless source they should play gapless. And any m4a files created by converting should be gapless too. Do the FLAC files play gapless?

Never mind on this. I think this was an "install" problem on my end. But now having other issues (tunefusion is frozen after install). I've reinstalled 1.2 and all is fine. Won' have time to play...

    Sticky: Re: TuneFUSION R1.3

On Windows 8.1, choosing mp3(lame) as encoder doesn't display any options (V level, etc.). That part of screen is just blank. The default m4a is normal and allows selection of options for encoding....

    Thanks!
  12. Re: Feature Request - Sticky Windows in Source Filtering

I've installed the 1.3 beta. A move in the right direction with [album artist] in front of album. But in my setup of over 8,000 albums, only a small percentage use the tag field album artist. So...

accuraterip results *confirm* whether the cd rip is bitperfect. AR and bitperfect are not alternatives to each other.

    Re: Format conversion failures

I have only tried to convert 24/48 flac files to mp3. This worked fine.
  15. Re: Feature Request - Sticky Windows in Source Filtering

Agree 100%. I have thousands of artists and about 9000 albums. At any give time I only want to sync a handful of these to my iphone with foobar2000 mobile. But it is challenging as I need to scroll...

Re: Find & Replace Tags within dBpa

If you have a method that works for you, I'd say use it. My final point on this is that I think you likely *can* do what you want with dbpa ripper. This requires use of the ID TAG PROCESSING DSP...

Re: Find & Replace Tags within dBpa

I think you can do this by adding the DSP, "ID TAG PROCESSING" in the bottom center of ripper screen. Within this DSP, select the "manipulation tab" and then "rule based mapping" I think you can then...

Re: Find & Replace Tags within dBpa

OK. seems pretty simple then. Where the track title tag contains:
Das Rheingold (The Rhine Gold), opera, WWV 86a: Vorspiel
    delete that and type in:
    Scene 1: Vorspiel

    Do the equivalent for all...

Re: Find & Replace Tags within dBpa

You still haven't provided a concrete example of what you want in each metadata tag and what you want the folder names and filenames to be in the end. You need to be very explicit. For example:

Re: Find & Replace Tags within dBpa

And are you saying you want the TITLE tag to contain:

Scene 1 - Das Rheingold (The Rhine Gold), opera, WWV 86a:

Why? Why would you not prefer this info in separate tags:

    ALBUM: Das...

Re: Find & Replace Tags within dBpa

Wouldn't that be as easy as typing in "Scene 1" at the beginning of each of the TRACK tags for tracks 1-6, 'Scene 2" for tracks 7-18.

But still not clear. What do you want the TITLE of each track...

Exactly! Snowdog, your extra steps are not necessary if you would simply use the correct settings of dbpa CD ripper.
  24. Re: Album Art doesn't add pics to Files ripped from CD by Windows Media Player

  25. Re: Album Art doesn't add pics to Files ripped from CD by Windows Media Player
