Anyway, thanks for answering. I'll try and download the trial and see if it runs on my computer...
I was a tester. I have the free beta that was distributed to all testers. It works fine, but in settings it is impossible to change the disk drive speed when ripping. The option is greyed out.
...
I completely forgot regular forum users cannot post links. Quoting the above post was a mistake.
If I download the trial version, will it work on my system? I already used the demo on this...
Thank you.
Last question: is it any different from the beta version I have? The beta turns all '?' upside down, and that is the only problem with it.
Well, then I could just buy a Windows version and run it in WINE. No biggie.
And... I do not see where a trial can be downloaded. It was distributed to the testers, is it unavailable now?
First of all, an apology. I should not have stopped coming here. With that out of the way, my two questions.
Purchased version. Let's say I buy a copy for my Mac. In a year or two, I may switch to...
Makes sense. Speaking of that, any recommendations of a good, quality, reliable USB-3 external DVD (or Blu-Ray) drive? Must be tray-based. The one I have right now is good, but I want a safety plan...
Maybe that is true. Maybe. But having control over that gives the user the feeling of freedom. Or, or some might say, the illusion of freedom (which is the next big thing).
And I still don't...
I hope this isn't too much to ask, but I would very much like to choose my ripping speed. "Max" is the default, and there is no way to change the default. I am using an external drive if that helps....
That would be the go-to solution if the formats sounded the same. They don't. WAV is perfect/warm, AIFF is cold, FLAC 0 is identical to WAV, ALAC sounds very much like FLAC levels 1 - 8 (compressed)....
Specification set by DBPA? If that is the case, I understand.
Also, I decided it is time to change my music listening habits drastically. I want to switch to FLAC permanently. What are the best,...
Not to be whiny or anything, but could anyone please answer my question? It's on the previous page.
This may go into DBPA general (if there is one), but I'll ask here. A friend sent me a bunch of AIF files that he made with Toast (he stored several of his albums in a format exclusive to that...
I promised to not ask any more questions, and this is not a question. It's a minor complaint. I cannot copy or paste anything within the metadata windows, or any windows for that matter. I think of...
Great. I was just worried for some of the albums I have where certain tracks fade into the next one. Does that mean that such tracks are gapless?
I guess I have nothing to worry about if yes.
Almost forgot! Last question (probably) before the big release: can DBPA rip CDs without including pre-gap?
I think one such program is not crap. It's called xACT, and, aside from this magical feature, it is a fantastic free converter. The end result always sounds identical, if the format is the same...
I've been thinking. DBP has a verification feature, to make sure that the end file is 100% identical to the original file. How come all converters/rippers don't have this thing?
Not sure what you mean. Regarding FLAC, Apple does not support it, so you have to rely on 3rd party players and plugins. Regarding the CD problem, the connection to AccurateRip database is sometimes...
I don't know if this will sound arrogant, but... are the issues of unreadable disks (endless "please wait for AR") and path/folder destination (files getting ripped to the wrong folder often) being...
Nice to see the testing continuing and bugs getting squashed.
And while that is done, I need to ask: what plug-ins are available for FLAC playback in iTunes? And by that I mean most reliable,...
I wonder what was wrong with my post to get it deleted.
How many minutes will it take? I can wait, sure, but I really want to know if that works.
P.S. The folder/destination problem is fixed with the latest update. I can now rip to the folder of my...
NOW they are.
Having said that, I cannot rip a CD. It's the 1992 reissue of Cargo by Men at Work, released in Germany but manufactured in Australia. It's a part of the "two originals" double CD...
I made a post a few days ago with a lot of text. There was so much, it went in for moderator approval. Can somebody please check my few days old post and approve it?
