    Re: Getting Started

you must be using a Mac. In the second set, change all backward slashes to forward slashes.
  2. Re: ID TAG UPDATE missing in BATCH CONVERTER (Windows Ver. XX.x)

does not matter now, but with version I meant for you to add version. Not xx.x. For example my dbpa is ver 17.1.
  3. Re: Rookie Question - Ripping on Several Machines (Win 10 & Mac)

yes, once ripped it doesn't matter what the source machine was.
but you'll need two different licenses, one for windows and one for Mac.
  4. Re: ID TAG UPDATE missing in BATCH CONVERTER (Windows Ver. XX.x)

you might take a look at codec central page. One can get to the utility codecs page only by clicking one of the other listed utility codecs. Then it takes you to the ID TAG UPDATE and all other...
  5. Re: ID TAG UPDATE missing in BATCH CONVERTER (Windows Ver. XX.x)

ok. Works for me from that link, but not from overall codec central listing under the concluded in dbpa list.

but anyhow, monsterjazzlick, click on above link and install ID TAG UPDATE codec.
  6. Re: ID TAG UPDATE missing in BATCH CONVERTER (Windows Ver. XX.x)

But ID TAG UPDATE.is not clickable to install. It is under the Included with dbpoweramp list.

Re: Tags, Tags, and more Tags ...

You might need to start another thread to get help from Spoon or others on why you're not seeing "ID TAG UPDATE" in your utility DSPs in "Batch Converter". I'd use subject line of:

    ID TAG UPDATE...

Re: Tags, Tags, and more Tags ...

Like I said, some of those I had to manually install. Most I don't actually need anyhow. Mostly need FLAC, mp3, and some of the utiility codecs like TEST CONVERSION, Replaygain, ID TAG UPDATE etc.I...

See pic at link.. This is what I see when I open BATCH CONVERTER, select some files, then click CONVERT. Note that I have several codecs here that are not default and require installing. But the ID...

Re: Tags, Tags, and more Tags ...

you must not have installed the ID TAG UPDATE codec from Codec Central yet. Install this then try again.

EDIT. hmmm, supposed to be installed by default. Have you scrolled down on that popup list...

Re: Tags, Tags, and more Tags ...

Yes. And when the files load up, click CONVERT. Then choose ID Tag Update as the codec. Not flac. Start with only an album or two to test. I cannot even recall what you are trying to do. Delete all...

    yes
  16. Re: Do I need the Reference version to do this...

Dbpoweramp can do what you want, but agree that TuneFusion, is designed to do exactly what you want. Both products are same company. I have both.

Re: Tags, Tags, and more Tags ...

Looks like you are converting to FLAC and using ID TAG UPDATE DSP as part of FLAC conversion. That's not what you want to do. If you want to delete tags, you CONVERT to "ID TAG UPDATE" DSP, not FLAC....

    Re: ripping Sony 20-bit recordings

The actual CD produced was 16/44.1. The "20 bit" was a bit of fluff advertising related I assume to things at the mastering level. You would simply rip these CDs as standard CDs.

same for me, 17.1 reference, converting FLAC to mp3 uses all my cores, no DSP effects involved.

    Re: Accurate Rip Question

The ripper doesn't have that sort of Artificial Intelligence "brain". That is, it can't learn to just "settle" for less than perfect match over time. If it can't get an AR match, one could run it a...

    Re: Bit Depth

So why does dBpoweramp have a bit depth setting or any DSP settings if all CD's should be ripped as is.

Mostly because people use it to *down*convert a 24/96 or 24/192 to 16/44.1 or 16/48. This is...

    Re: Bit Depth

As @EdBrady noted, there is zero benefit in converting a 16/44.1 file (redbook CD) to 24/xxxx. It does nothing other than make the file larger. One can't magically turn a 16 bit file into a true 24...
