Thank you. That was it. Now Foobar and DBpoweramp give the same result.
I was jumping the gun. After reading the whole page I can see that -b is for constant bitrate.
After some testing with the command line, it's the -q0 that causes the difference.
If I send only -b...
I replaced the LAME.exe that came with DBpoweramp with the one I use for Foobar. It produces exactly the same file. So it's not the LAME.exe that causes the difference.
I enabled debugging and the...
P.S. because of the filesizes are almost the same, I inclined to think that bitrate is not the problem. More the way it decides which sound can be removed.
As for Foobar, I don't know. I just...
This is a random file I picked. Total length of file is 2:54.
Filesize Lame DBpoweramp 7.126.044 bytes, with LAME Foobar 7.128.116 bytes.
I came across the difference with Fakin' the Funk. I...
I'm not talking about if it's audible or not. When I use a converter with LAME, I expect the same quality with the same settings compared to another converter with LAME.
It's clear (to me) that LAME...
When I convert a flac file to MP3 CBR 320 with DBpoweramp I get this:

When I use foobar2000 with the latest Lame.exe, then I get this (same source):...
It is, but if you're in the process of ripping your entire CD collection. One might not be able to listen to all the rips to ensure the ripping errors are not audible. Therefore I used secure...

Thanks! It works again!
Can you explain why mp3 and wav-files could stream, but flac-files not?
I have a Pioneer vsx-824 receiver and under Windows 10 64bit I was able to send mp3/wav and flac-files with WMPDMC.exe (by rightclicking on a flac-file and choose 'play on device' (I hope that's the...
recently verified: AR: database access error: Unable to connect to the remote server, CTDB: BadRequest.:
There's an icon (something with a clock) you should untick this one (it's the third icon on...
AR is only for checking on ripping errors. It has no direct influence on the sound quality.
The only influence is that you can clean/polish a cd and rip a track again if AR shows that a track (or...
Could it be that DBpoweramp14 is using AR2 and cuetools is still at AR1?
Aux input is no longer in DBpoweramp. Try audacity to record your vinyl.
see this topic to prevent the outcome from clipping
I think he means AlbumX has 3 cds.
De album art in the cd directories are copied but the album art in the main directory not.
If there's no data, then the cd is ripped twice and the checksums are compared. If they match, then you have a secure rip, otherwise insecure.
Yes, which is a help, but I want the choice directly in the pulldown menu.
But from your answer I can deduce it is not possible (yet).
Maybe something for R14?
Sorry for kickin' an old topic, but I was looking for an easy way for converting mono songs to one channel without clipping.
I added the above dsp effects and it works fine, but...
Is there a way...
No, as long as the rip is secure or accurate there's no difference!
He's ripping to apple lossless or AAC not mp3, so his problem could be taglabel related.
DBpoweramp keeps to the standard tags, but many other programs don't.
So you need to find out which tags your Ipod uses for album art and compare that to the standard dbpoweramp uses.
About the...
A bit more use of the enter key would make your post more readable, so your assumption of separating the questions is right. I used jokingly the term Line feed from the printer slang.
As I stated...
concerning overread: you're missing very very very little, in most cases silence.
concerning insecure cd's: if there's no visible flaw, polishing won't help much, but you can try. Also try another...
