I recovered a system backup prior to install of R16, installed as 32bit, works fine now. I believe my scanner drivers are only 32bit. Happy system now!

I think the only scanner drivers were 32 bit. Caught the error on shutdown. Recovered a backup Pre-install release 16. Reinstalled 32 bit version and ALL IS WELL!

OK, I ran some test today. Reinstalled R14, it accesses scanner with no problem. 16.4 will access the scanner ONE time, after that it hangs.

Yes, I still have it, I will reinstall and try again. He had been working prior to upgrade. I Use Vipre antivirus, and the default system firewall.

No, one then the other, Insert CD once, rip both formats one then the other.

I had thought the profile could be used to set a setting for MP3 to a location for MP3, and change profile to FLAC, and rip to a location for FLAC.

Setting this up baffles me.
