    Re: Will this scenario work?

With the regular CD ripper program, the answer to your 3 questions are all YES.
edit: note that you can install the full version of the ripper without purchasing to test out the program. This turns...
  3. Re: New drive - have a few questions - please help!

Yes, probably OK most of the time, but in my opinion, you don't want to be ripping with a drive that does NOT support AccurateRip. AccurateRip is very valuable and why bother going through the secure...

Re: Batch convert from mp3 to FLAC Lossless

correct, and also keep in mind that the extra CPU time is almost all for the compression/creation of the FLAC file. Decoding effort is essentially the same whether the FLAC is uncompressed or...

Re: Batch convert from mp3 to FLAC Lossless

As Dat Ei has pointed out, your idea about how this works is incorrect. Once you create an mp3 file with LAME (even if created *from* a lossless FLAC file), the resulting mp3 file CANNOT be...
  7. Re: Metadata - Editing Album Artist without impacting Tracks Artists

I don't see this issue. What do you mean "impacts track artists"? Changes the entries? I don't see this. I can independently change album artist without affecting track artists. Using 16.6 version...

Re: Rip as one - track listings.

I have found that CD players and media players built into automobiles (even new, expensive cars) are absolutely the WORST in terms of dealing with things like metadata in files and playback (gapless,...

Re: dBpa sees one CD as another...

I think that's because there was an AR match in both cases. Without the AR match, if you ripped the same CD twice, and both rips were SECURE, then the 2nd rip would show the CRCs as "green" (matching...

Re: dBpa sees one CD as another...

No. Only if you proceed to rip the CD and when done all those previously filled in CRC numbers are green (meaning they match).

Re: Where do submitted ripper results go?

Essentially you can do this from the CD Ripper interface. In the CD Ripper, after you've edited all the metadata to be correct, simply click on the "tag" icon, then "active providers" then "submit...

    Re: Mqa

I do not understand how this would work. I understand that there are MQA CDs available. I am told that If one rips those to lossless (FLAC etc.), then plays the lossless through an MQA capable...

Re: End of track echo... Is this a known bug?

Yes, DBPA is smart enough to automatically create all the folders and subfolders. This is all set in the dynamic naming settings in the converter. I am not in front of computer, but there are...

Re: End of track echo... Is this a known bug?

I second this. Rip to a temporary folder on your c drive, NOT a dropbox folder. Then when done ripping, cut and paste the files over to your dropbox folder.

in the meantime, delete all the mp3...

Re: Higher sample offset = worse drive?

Agree with you Dat Ei. There is no fundamental reason why larger offset affects rip quality. Of course drive should be set up properly as you note.

  19. Re: CD-Ripper 16.6 Finds Metadata (Sometimes) and then (sometimes) discards it.

Hard to see how related, but I rip only to FLAC as well. The odd thing is that for a split second the metadata flashes up, but then disappears.
  20. Re: CD-Ripper 16.6 Finds Metadata (Sometimes) and then (sometimes) discards it.

I have been noticing the exact same problem, including using a 2nd step to acquire from cd text on newer CDs. I have ripped thousands of CDs, and only had this problem in the last year. Perhaps this...

Re: End of track echo... Is this a known bug?

I've never experienced this in thousands of rips or mp3 conversions. But have never used AIFF either.

I really don't know the answer to this (the drive or whether all USB connected drives don't work with C2). I've never looked at the list of top drives. I come from the approach, of "having several...

Sticky: Re: CD Drive Accuracy 2019

As an experiment, try it with C2 errors unchecked. This is often the culprit, even on drives that supposedly support C2 error detection.
edit: and I've seen several cases where drives that support...
