Sooner or later you will have to think about it.
If I chose to use an ipad pro extensively for easy computing tasks, is there a way to fit dbpoweramp into it?
Reprising an old thread. If I am converting FLAC to DSD and wish to volume normalize, do I need to set the bit depth at 32 bit floating point first up or just the volume normalize DSP?
Oh. Yes that is true.
Hi Spoon, will you ever consider an iPad version of the DBPoweramp converter? with iPad Pros available in high processing power, it would eliminate the need to use a Mac or PC for conversion every...
Many thanks.
It is okay, but won't peak-to-peak affect the dynamic range of the recording?
Ok, thanks. Let me see if I can work it.
Hi, everytime I convert a DSD (2.8) file to PCM (specifically aiff), there is a significant volume drop. How can I prevent this?
Yes, the CD layer is created with HDCD. Check the wikipedia link above.
I think I have found the answer to why it decoded the SACD to 24-bit. That particular Dire Straits SACD is also HDCD encoded, although it is not mentioned as such. It is there in the wiki link...
Thanks for the info. Will look into it.
Thanks
I must point out that I did not, the HDCD DSP did. The same dsp leaves 16-bit normal CDs as it is, but for SACDs it decided to decode to 24-bit.
since when has that stopped us?
True. Does dbpoweramp have plans to decode SACD in future, or even make a .iso file? Or are there copyright issues?
But it did rip to 24 bit, so some small success I guess...
Hi, just continuing to understand the HDCD function. I ripped the Dire Straits Brothers In Arms 50th anniversary SACD using the HDCD DSP (without +6db checked) and it ripped to 24 bit 44.1 khz....
I have a .iso file of an shm-SACD. Can I use dbpoweramp in any way to convert that into a bit-perfect dsf file?
However, I would like to add a caveat: In the Onkyo HF app on my iphone, any lossless resolution upsampled to hi-res plays back differently. Not that the audio is better, just that the sound is less...
Very True. Makes me wonder if any Hi-Res files on sale out there are actually upsampled CDs!
Trying to understand how FLAC works.
As for converting 16/44.1 into 24/96 or even higher, I believe most CD player DACs do it anyway. Don't know whether it sounds more 'airy' or not, many...
yup
Hi, if I rip a CD using CD ripper to flac uncompressed, it says FLAC (0% compressed). If I now take the same ripped, uncompressed FLAC file and go to music converter and change the ripped file to...
Ok
