    Re: Set-Up for Ripping

Interesting. I am new to this game but must admit I do precisely that which you have warned against.

Back in the day, I attended a Neil Diamond concert in LA that was subsequently released as...

    Re: Set-Up for Ripping

Don, Like yourself, I have only come to dBpa recently and I'm still struggling with how to get the best out of the application but, with the help of several people on this forum and a lot of reading,...

    Re: Populating the library

I am embarrassed. I just realised that I had inadvertently 'excluded' aiff files in the configuration. Duh.

    Thanks for all the help.

    Re: Populating the library

Great suggestion! I"m already a registered owner of dBpa so it was easy to convert one of the CDs from aiff to flac. It worked! I've got to just work out now what's the problem with aiff.

    Thanks

Yes, if I put the full path /users/nicholson2002/media/music, I get taken to the music.

    Re: Populating the library

I'm not sure if you're asking me if the folder named Media/Music contains my music, the answer is yes it does. That's my problem. I know where my music is but Asset doesn't seem to.

    I even set...

    Populating the library

Out of frustration with Plex, I have downloaded Asset to try it out.

I have installed the application on my Macbook Pro as the media server, and configured it to identify where the music folders...

    Re: Media Player suggestions

Yes, I meant media server. At the moment, I have my Plex Server and Plex Player on the same device, a Macbook Pro.

Thanks for the suggestion on ASSET. I'll take a look.

    OK, so here's my problem.

With the help of several people on this forum I have finally managed to set up dBpa such that it names my music as I want it to and my Finder folder is correct. I listen...

    Re: Naming classical music

I just read this after I sent my previous message. That is definitely getting closer. Now I get:

    Bax, Arnold/Symphony No. 6/Douglas Bostock-[orchestra]/Allegro con fuoco

    The composer's name...

Thanks for your patience on this one.

Your explanation has been very good but I don't seem able to replicate the outcome. I am attaching a couple of screenshots that might help.

That is exactly what I want to do as well. Would you humour me and give me 'child level' instructions on how to set this up? I can't work it out for the life of me and my Google searches aren't...

    Re: Naming classical music

Thanks mville, your help is much appreciated. I am reconciled to the fact that it isn't going to be as easy as I may have hoped.

I will certainly have another look at iTunes. As well as my...

    Re: Naming classical music

Well, I'm not ticking the compilation box so I guess it doesn't exist. Specifically, where would I find it?

dBpa for Macs may be different as the backslash is not creating sub directories. The...

    Re: Naming classical music

If I replace / wth \ I get the same as I did with your naming, ie no folders, just a few files as indicated previously.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'the COMPILIATION tag "1" for this album'. ...

Yes, the four movements of this particular symphony are numbered 1-4 in the name itself. I have actually removed these unnecessary numbers from the folder record.
