    Re: Total Track *

Like WAV files, AIFF does not have standardized tagging. ALAC would be more like the equivalent to FLAC for a lossless file. Both FLAC and ALAC have more standardized tagging that most...

    Re: Total Track *

I'm not sure it shows up in this "write tags" option section. Confirm that post-rip, a metadata tag field like TRACKTOTAL is showing up in your files. It does for me in my FLAC rips.

    Re: Total Track *

It does. If I don't tick those two options, in my tags I see total tracks and total discs. But there are different metadata fields where different players/servers are looking for different named...

    Re: Composer

the CD ripper cache keeps track of things for a while, but not forever. I suspect this would be true of the COMPOSER values you enter.

    Re: Total Track *

with these unchecked, can you confirm that CD rips don't have track count and disc count metadata fields filled in. I don't mean showing in the CD ripper screen, but instead showing up in the...

Re: New external drive vibrates like hell

  7. Re: Scratched CDs - should I do an 8kb Transfers pass before moving on to Ultra Secur

I don't bother comparing multiple rips of the same CD, each with errors to each other. My process. I rip a CD. If it generates errors, insecure, or even has lots of frame re-reads during the ripping...

    Re: Composer

AccurateRip is not dbpa CD ripper. AR is a database that rips are checked against by several rippers (dbpa, EAC, cuetools, foobar2000 and others). I'm sure mean dbpa CD ripper.

    Re: Shortcut?

In CD ripper, I simply type in the genre I'm applying to the album or track. I don't use a mouse for this at all.

Re: End Of Symphonic Movements Cut Off

OK. Good to know. (and what I expected). By the way, I'm suggesting "crossfade" or "gapless" as issues in PLEX settings, but this is just a guess given the problem you're having. It could be some...

Re: End Of Symphonic Movements Cut Off

These DSPs are not causing any issues. And the files are AccurateRip matched, so there are no issues with the files themselves (which you could also confirm by playing on something other than PLEX...

crossfade is in the player. Not in dbpa.
  16. Re: Is there a bulk action for adding missing tags?

I think this would work (nothing after the = sign) and only add if Alubm artist is empty. but test it:

    IF Album Artist=
    SET Album Artist=[artist]
  17. Re: Is there a bulk action for adding missing tags?

not sure where you're looking. But when you go into batch convert (or just convert) and select the files, the top line in the popup box is "encoding". There is a dropdown menu there that allows...

    Re: lame codec problem?

it's always possible that the files were accurate when ripped, but something caused the WAV files to become corrupted (copying, bad sectors on HDD, etc.). By the way, one of the advantages of FLAC...

Re: End Of Symphonic Movements Cut Off

The code you mention is just for the naming of the file. It has nothing to do with the ripping of the CD or audio. Did these files report being secure or AcccurateRip matches? I suspect something...
  20. Re: Is there a bulk action for adding missing tags?

are you trying to simply copy the value in the ARTIST tag to the ALBUM ARTIST tag? If so, I think there is a way to do that in bulk with ID TAG Processing. Not sure the steps, as I use mp3tag to do...

Re: FLAC to Apple lossless tag problem
