Thanks for creating the new qaac plugin!
qaac setting is: -v256 -q2
itunes plus is equivalent to constrained vbr 256.
(you can see the documentation here:

)
fwiw I think Spoon does amazing work in addressing concerns and replying on these forums (it's hard to believe he is only one guy). Given his success with dbpoweramp, I'm sure he considered the...
Does someone know a way of getting soloists to show as a column in windows explorer (windows 7)? It doesn't show up as a column I can add. For that matter, is there a way to add columns for custom...
Thank you. The other thing I notice is that no "drive read cache" was detected (and cachex doesn't get any info from the drive). running win 7 x64 sp1.
I'm seeing the same behavior in R14 final (latest) with an internal blue-ray reading drive. The drive is listed as:
HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CT21N
specs are here:...
I'm using the "dbpoweramp Batch convert" shell option (right-click on folder in windows explorer).
There's an issue when moving a column in list view: the contents of the column you move don't get...
Ok, actually it can be done in sorted list via the check boxes, but it's hard because of a bug with column move that I will report in the other forum.
Currently there is no way to filter out and batch convert only lossless apple (i.e. not lossy m4a files) from folders that include subfolder files to convert.
(There is a trick to sort on...
I take it one ordinarily wouldn't be?
With dbpoweramp, is there any advantage (or disadvantage) to using the version of lame that allows for floating point wav inputs? (apparently this version will be folded into final lame 3.99...
There doesn't seem to be an individual download for the calculate audio crc codec. (I don't want to install everything in the reference codec pack just to get or upgrade the calculate audio crc...
A little late to this thread but:
You CAN use dbpoweramp to encode itunes aac. itunes aac is the same as quicktime aac, and there is a commandline encoder for quicktime. Just use the CLI codec and...
Update:
for quicktime aac/m4a encoding, there is now an easy command line encoder for windows: QtAacEnc.Exe
recommended mode is tvbr (true vbr).

...
ok, thanks.
The problem is that installing CLI encoder does not upgrade the version number (iy stays at version 3), so when it checks for updates it still thinks you need a newer version (version 4). So I'm...
After installing reference 13.4, I get a message saying I have an old version of the CLI encoder. But downloading and installing the new version as directed, doesn't change the version number shown...
for dynamic path creation when ripping:
It would be good to have a command to get the first (or last) word, or grab until a specified delimiter character (e.g. space, semi-colon).
For example,...
that's true. but almost all m4a files use apple itunes (quicktime) tagging format. even nero in its latest version now defaults to apple itunes tagging. (I wish apple would allow multiple values...
The Id Tag processing dsp does not seem to be able to use any of the dynamic tags. e.g. [IFVALUE] or [comment] etc. do not work.
Using the command line encoder, or external command utility, it would be useful to have a command that gives only the folder name (the pathname without the filename at the end) of the [outfile] or...
The problem may be due to an apparent issue in QtAacEnc (quicktime command line encoder) in dealing with the entire length of the command line.
Even if that gets fixed, it would be good to...
apple's m4a format (itunes tagging) does not support multiple items in any field. (unless that was changed very recently?). The ";" will not create multiple artists.
Also:
[comment] doesn't work in command line encoder,
but [tag]comment[] does.
