Re: Can't Access DSD downloads in ID Tags

This has nothing to do with Asset. Spoon is referring to dbpoweramp (ripper and converter).

Re: Can't Access DSD downloads in ID Tags

look in your computer's file explorer. For example, flac files have a .flac extension, mp3 files have an .mp3 extension, text files have a .txt extension.

    Re: Embedded Digital Traceable Signature

and I assume that if embedded in the CD itself, even AccurateRip matching from ripping your CD would still work because all the CDs would contain this same digital info.

Re: CRC embed new tag in previously ripped FLAC

For example, see this. This saved CRC info is in the header/frames (not the tag....that is just something extra that dbpa does so you can actually see the CRC if you need to).

Re: CRC embed new tag in previously ripped FLAC

The CRC in a tag (from ripping) is one thing. But all FLAC files have an embedded CRC in the file itself (not necessarily in a tag) that is used to test for corruption (such as the TEST CONVERSION...

Re: CRC embed new tag in previously ripped FLAC

I'm a bit confused with your question. FLAC files already have CRC embedded in file. You can run dbpa batch converter, converting to "TEST CONVERSION" to have dbpa compare calculated CRC to the...
  7. Re: Checking Accuraterip retroactively does not work as should (OSX)

If you own dbpoweramp you should not be ripping CDs with iTunes. iTunes is not known as a secure ripper.
  8. Re: Queen Greatest hits I, II, and III the platinum hits collection

could be, but that has nothing to do with metadata/tag info.

    Re: Help

Is this a CD you are ripping? What happens if you rip to lossless(16/44.1) as FLAC, ALAC, WAV, etc. Same result?

Re: New user- Inaccurate rip (200)

Yes, that's good. Even 'Accurate (2)' is fantastic. the 200 just means this is a very popular CD.

Re: New user- Inaccurate rip (200)

Hmmm. Odd. My only suggestion is that there is something wrong with the USB connected drive. Do you have another drive to try? Also, not in front of my computer, but I recall in CD ripping setup...

Re: New user- Inaccurate rip (200)

You think C2 is not ticked. But have you actually confirmed this in the ripper settings?

    Re: Help

Have you tried to map the music folder on the NAS to a letter drive on your PC. Then rip to that location.

Easy to change after ripping. Use ID Tag update part of dbpa.

Re: CD with album artist and artist different

What's your question? Yes, one can have album artist as a different name than artist. If you want multiple artists for "artist" tag, simply enter a ";" between the two names. For example:

  18. Re: It's there a "how to get started guide" for converting files?

You'll find the folks at this forum very helpful. There's a bit of a learning curve with the software, but once setup the way you want, it's dead simple. But play around, test things out,...

    Re: Year/Date Tagging philosophies

Sorry, we don't allow changing of minds around here. We might have to send the tagging police around to your house. ;)

In the location Spoon mentions, you can customize the naming upon ripping to almost anything one might desire. Completely flexible.

    Re: dBpoweramp R17 .4 questions

Sound quality is the same. A lossless file is lossless. Bitperfect. But lots of other benefits. I always find updating is useful.

    Re: Older Audio CDs

if you're not getting AccurateRip matches but you are getting SECURE rips, you're most likely OK. Not getting an AR match is not equivalent to there being an issue with the CD or the resulting rip.

    Re: Year/Date Tagging philosophies

I'd play around with your music server/players to see what it does with full dates (month day year). If they handle this OK for you, then can't hurt to use the full date. I'm not personally OCD...

    Re: Year/Date Tagging philosophies

I use only year. And I use original year of release and put any re-release info in album name. For example

    ALBUM: All Things Must Pass
    YEAR: 1970

ALBUM: All Things Must Pass (2014)
    YEAR:...
