Thanks Bill, I should have linked but was in a hurry :) It's amazing how far Ogg Vorbis has come, esp. with hardware support in portable players. I use it for everything now because of the amazing...
well, it's a pretty simple request for today :) I like the new sound, aoyumi has tuned this mofo something fierce. Check guruboolez' thread on hydrogenaudio, it's splendid reading! :D
You can safely forget about Ogg Vorbis on the iFP series players :) Support is horrible, unless none of your tunes have a frame below 96kbps.
WMA files are not "half the size of MP3" unless you encode them @ half the bitrate, but then they will not sound nearly as good.
When you use VBR mode, the bitrate is an approximation that is...

Currently using debian (XandrOS 3.0) and it's beautiful except for the missing dBPowerAmp :(
haven't tried WINE yet, maybe...
Linux hasn't made any inroads into the mainstream computer market b/c it's best as a server. It's been "on a fast track to mega growth" for years already.

Out of curiosity, what MP3 players do you have that support MP3pro?
I was hoping that native 64-bit code might not need the 32-bit emulation (like WoW for 16-bit code in Win2k/XP) and that might make it faster. Good point about the codecs :)
In the coming 6 months 64-bit Windows is set to 0wn.. people with dBPowerAmp are generally savvy, literate blokes with an interest in tech - IOW prime candidates for 64-bit migration; it'd be nice...
