  1. Re: Best codec to convert .wma files to in my particular case? (opinions)

highly unlikely. You might open them in mp3tag and see if it recognizes any tags. Doubtful, but worth a try. Also, do file/folder names contain any info. If so, there are ways to batch fill tag data...
  2. Re: How to check a CD for accurate tracks quickly without ripping them?

The concept of AccurateRip matched tracks is entirely related to the resulting digital rips from the CD. So if you don't rip the CD, or obtain the digital rips from some other source (e.g.,...

yes you are correct. Test conversion works as you indicate. I have run it many times on my 120,000 track collection with no problems whatsoever.

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

that looks correct (you've ticked the Disk Number tag field). Are you saying that multidisk CDs are showing the album name appended with CD01, CD02, etc. If so, there is a setting in ripper options...

CD Ripper options, ID tags and metadata, tick the disk number boxes as tags you want to write to the tracks. Note when I do this if I have a single disc ripping I have to manually delete the 1 number...

The disk tag is only used in my case when I have multiple disc. I do not use a disk tag if I only have one disc in the album. You would need the disc tag information entered, for example, to use my...

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

there is no "album level" metadata. All metadata is contained within each track (artist, album, album artist, etc.). If you've set the artist tag to "Various Artists" then that's what will show up...

Re: Need Suggestions on Music Data Tag Reader

In my opinion, the only concern is proper backups (which you seem to be doing) and making sure files are not corrupted (which is easy to do). If tags get edited inadvertently, that's no big deal, as...

Try this. (reverse all the back slashes). And this assumes you aways have ALBUM ARTIST SORT filled in on every track.

Re: Need Suggestions on Music Data Tag Reader

hard to say. The file would be re-written, but the question is whether the program re-writing the file changes the file modification date. Many do, some do not. mp3tag has a setting (to tell it...

that has nothing to do with the naming string. Folder.jpg wont be there unless you ripped a CD and it creates the artwork.

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

no, doesn't matter in dbpoweramp. Just don't tick "use C2" in the ripper settings. Most of my drives don't use C2. The beauty of dbpoweramp secure ripping and AccurateRip, is that this really...

Re: Need Suggestions on Music Data Tag Reader

Maybe too simple for what you want to do, but if I was trying to find tracks in my library that were missing metadata (tag fields), I'd simply open my 120,000 tracks into mp3tag. Then, I'd click on...

Re: Need Suggestions on Music Data Tag Reader

No, the TEST CONVERSION or VERIFY INTEGRITY has nothing to do with confirming "sound quality" or whether any tags are missing. These functions simply determine that the digital file is not corrupt...

Re: Beginner question on dynamic naming

The box set string I gave you is super simple. It only deals with MULTIDISK CDs, and doesn't put them in an ARTIST or ALBUM artist folder. It simply puts all those disks in a folder called "Box Sets"...
