I discovered 2 corrupt mp3 files by playing them over at least a couple of months... May be more as I've only got to "P" in song sequence.
And I still think the most likely culprit is Batch...
I'll give this a try, although I can't think of a scenario where Safe mode would help.
This will take some time, and I'll have to listen to 1500 tracks to hear if any are corrupted.....
Also after more than 30years programming "impossible" is a word I stopped using!
No known HDD corruptions, all 3 HDDs checked & ok, corruption is only after the flac to mp3 conversion, nowhere else.
The corrupted mp3 files have the different tracks interwoven: a section of Blue...

Converted 1 file to Wav, and after that all Flac conversions have worked. Strange, but true!
